Twas a good year all round my friend, lets hope that 2008 can top it! GAMING FTW!
I don't know if I can sum it up any better than you. I mean, what with it being a year of the multimedia.
Firstly, "Odyssey".
Secondly, was 2007 just a list of game titles and crappie peakings?
Lots of things happened in 2007, as far as gaming goes. The PlayStation 2's release of good quality software waned, with many considering God of War 2 its final swan song. Except, of course, for it constantly outselling the PlayStation3.
A huge point of this year was that game makers realized that by ignoring the previous generation of consoles, they were alienated the majority of game console owners. Games that weren't even scheduled to come out on the Wii or PlayStation 2 were suddenly reverse engineered.
Halo 3 showed just how much clout could be generated by padding sales numbers with preorders, and Bioshock was, evidently, one of the first sales hits caused primarily by games journalism and a last-minute media blitz.
PlayStation3 came to Christmas with no must-have titles, its best sellers being multi-platform games.
Wii was shown, apart from some offerings by UbiSoft, and Zak and Wiki, to be yet another Nintendo-dominated system for good software.
I got t-boned by a guy running a red light? I guess that's important.
It was a year for me were I could say "I Freaking Called It." with the PS3 and its only 2 must have games for the season and Sony's relentless advertising of Resistance as still a new tittle.
