Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Seems perfectly fine, to me.
Corporations have always sucked dick.
Kane and Lynch has not been worth the wait... Is there even a question about this? Honestly. If the answer is a resounding no(which the reviews all point to) why is it on the page?
It just looks like more advertising to me. ;/
If it hadn't been hyped then I doubt it would have featured on the list
I'm all for bashing CNet, but this is just grasping at straws.

Exactly how I feel. Some things are just finding any tiny issue and blowing it up to a big deal when it isn't really
it sucked ...
Again, it just looks like advertising to me.

I see your point but I still don't think that Kane & Lynch and a few other of the titles deserves even to make the prelims. The "Objective" line has to be drawn somewhere.... somewhere not including Kane and Lynch and other garbage games.
Again, it just looks like advertising to me.
It is a poll about highly anticipated games. From what I read Kane and Lynch was highly anticipated before its release. As such it deserves to be placed in the poll so the public can vote for whether it was truly worth the wait.
I see no wrong doing here from GameSpot
I agree with you all that Gamespot perfectly validates having Kane & Linch on the list by using the '2007 most anticipated games' as a platform to do the voting.
Having said that seeing KL on the list turns my stomach just like seeing the Simpson games on the list. While being anticipated they quite clearly [n]do not...[\b]come anywhere near the "truly worth the wait" category. In the end, Gamespot could have easily not referenced the article and shortlisted the games that really deserve to be mentioned. In my mind their current setup gives exposure to games that are not worthy to be in the discussion.
;-/ I'll respond when I can.
I have been hearing this more and more as time goes on. One should take care not to bash a game for fear they will be sued for affecting their sales. This is by definition my use of justice. If you make a game that cannot hold its own then you are deserving of a bad review and pitiful sales figures. Fair play refers to the fact that just because you release it doesn't mean we have to buy it. This is often the case in the movie industry when a movie bombs.
So now their focus is to target the public. It is a "You will like it cause we say you will like it" mentality that will really be the cause for change in the way video games are selected and developed in the future. They companies are talking to a group of people with the highest BS meter and average IQ on the planet. That's right GAMERS!
To me though the backlash needs to fall on Gamespot. Just makes me wonder what else they are trying to slip me.
