World of Warcraft combats cancer

Team in Training, an endurance sports training program, is currently raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

"LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Our mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families."

One participant in the training program is Katherine Allen. Katherine has put up 3 one-year subscriptions to WoW for three randomly chosen donors from her participant page. As an added bonus, she has offered to pay for someone's WoW subscription for as long as they keep playing as well.

The event ends on January 5 so you have a few days left to donate at least $25 for an entry into her drawing. She has already received over $30K and with a few days left that amount could get much higher. Click over to Katherine's page to read more about the event and to donate if possible.

Not sure if cancer patients should spend their time getting absorbed in WoW. But, hey, it's charity!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
