Damn Warhawk seriously keeps getting better and better.
I took a bit of time to download the 1.50 patch and explore the new features. I was bummed to find that Operation: Fallen Star hasn't been released yet, but when it does, I hope they do a 3 pack because I'm gonna scoop that shit up.
Anyway, the patch.
First off, the title screen music changed. It's a little less optimistic, but still epic. It actually gets me more pumped to play this game. The score makes me feel like a valiant war has been waging for years and years. It feels tired, weary..yet determined.
In game music is the fucking shit. You just go in to your music selection on the XMB and choose a playlist..music plays over the entire game, it never stops until you quit Warhawk from the XMB. I was listening to Black Dhalia Murder's "Nocturnal" and Meshuggah's "Obzen"...not only did I feel way closer to the game world itself, but I had digital blood lust going on. Manically screaming at Nemesis jets as they hovered 20 feet above me, taunting them, yelling " DO IT! DO ITTT!!!" like Ahnold from Predator, as my dude clutched an RPG tightly in his little hands. This feature alone makes the patch.
The trophies are great. Just seeing the little blurb pop up informing you that you unlocked some stupid bragging right feels good. Even if you die an embarassing death, like if a tank shoots you square in the face as you try to take it out in a jet, if you unlocked a trophy right before or after your death, it feels all the more worth it.
The patch also boasts some added paint jobs for your jet and shit but I don't think I noticed them..my brain cells are shot.
In closing, I'm telling you..you guys have to get this patch ASAP. I can't wait until more games start doing custom soundtracks..fucking awesome.
