I love spying on people who flaunt their PSP around in public. I'm not like the creep in those hilarious commercials, but the last time someone sat next to me on the subway, I was totally trying to pry into their minds based upon what they had as their wallpaper, or what movie they were watching. Customizing this gadget is what makes owning a PSP great. Here's mine:

*Girly sigh* ...Winona, you make me wish I wasn't neutered...

And because I can't help myself...

"NICE UNNIITTT!!!"

Naw, I expected the Dtoid community to take a humored approach to this blog post. Woulda' been swell if someone actually did share their PSP but that could be asking too much roflzlzozlozlz.

taumpy: Oh, baby's first laptop *cough* I mean a DS!!! *pause*...still looks dumb to me!

I don't have a photo of it unfortunately, but you can peak at my BG if you like..

I have SNES, SEGA and NES roms on it and some PS1 games including MGS, FFVII, Marvel vs Capcom and Crash Bandicoot Warped.

Umm....what else. I've got some game trailers in the videos folder, for like, Dark sector and Turok.

*shrugs* did that get your rocks off? Hope so!

ico: Trippy wallpaper, and I am envious that you were brave enough to risk bricking your PSP..damn, I want to do it so bad, but I'm nervous. What size memory stick are you using? I need to upgrade, I only use a 512 mb -_-

mcbennet: the risk of bricking is very small. and nowadays, with the Pandora battery, you can unbrick PSPs easily. A custom firmware PSP with a 4gig stick is simply the best portable device ever.

MY PSP. LET ME SHOW U IT!!!

My wallpaper: I made it smaller so it wouldn't Eff up this page.

I really don't have anything else on it. I have all my music and videos in my 80GB zune. I do have this picture....

That's just 'cause it's silly. Other than that I have some GBA and SNES games in there. It's about it.

Seriously, there is the SMALLEST chance in the world that your PSP will get bricked. The smallest. I have messed around with it so much, downgrading and upgrading custom firmware the whole time I've had it.

And even if it gets bricked, then you can buy a Pandora memory stick off ebay for $20 and resell it afterwards if you don't want it.

It is totally worth it to have 100's of roms on your PSP.

As for memory I have 2x2GB sticks that I use for movies+games. I couldn't handle only 512mb of space!

You so crazeh!

ico: One day when I can afford to test it out, I'm gonna take your word for it and attempt at modding my psp. 512 is bullshit, I know..I swap stuff out a lot. I was thinking 1 or 2 GB.

That 16 GB stick looks awesome, but the price tag...OUCH.

Yep you can customize the entire look of your PSP. Even give it a custom GUI.

Only with custom firmware though ;D

alex has M33 firmware, not official firmware. You can download custom applications to change the total look of your PSP.

Actually now that I think about it, I think sony released an official PSP theme maker. I'll check...............

Yep, they did. Lucky you! Not sure exactly what its capable of though. You'll have to check that out yourself ;)

Summer Glau. She was on Serenity...now she's on that new Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles show.

And I don't feel like taking a picture of it, but I've got a Destructoid sticker on the back, over the PSP circle thing.

ico: Thanks for linking me :D, I've heard of that theme maker but didn't know if it was worth checking out or not. Making this post has made me realize how much I'm missing out on. Shit!

You guys have been really informative. I need to get on this. So much untapped potential! I haven't even used the official firmware for anything worthwhile, either.

First, a bigger mem. stick.

*nod nod* the psp is awesome because it is like a mini computer, and is capable of lots of different things. You can download applications like stop watches, alarm clocks, journals, word processors calenders etc. Not to mention the vast array of homebrew games available.

Duke Nukem on PSP ftw.

Installing custom firmware is as easy as downloading it, putting it on your psp and double clicking the icon. You start up your PSP and bam, it's done.

Hooray, PSPs! I've taken some screenshots of mine, since my only camera is my cell phone. It's a silver slim PSP (I wanted black, though) and I use one of those crazy Inivisible Shield screen protectors (which was a pain to install, but kinda worth it). I'm running on 3.80 M33-4.

My current wallpaper.

My other wallpaper (I usually just switch between the two).

My awesome custom-made Pepsiman icon and stuff. It also plays the Pepsiman theme when you highlight it. :D

A nice way to shut down/restart the PSP, rather than wearing out the switch.
