"OMEGA BOOST. IT'S ALL GOOD. CARRY OUT THE MISSION."
LULZ naw
Ever feel stuck in one place? I DO.
The other week I put the Eboot of Omega Boost on my PSP. I love this game. I never played the full version, but I remember dominating the shit out of the demo I got back in 1999. This was and still is a slick 3d shooter that puts recent attempts like "Xyanide" to shame.
It's not just the smooth graphics and superb use of color and light that help this game stay as a timeless classic. The action gradually increases and intensifies, the music never gets annoying and it creates for a unique atmosphere in this future universe that is on the verge of an apocalypse. Yeah, the FMV's are a bit cheesy, with the use of real actors and all..but I mean come on - a piloted robot out to destroy mechanical monstrosities..it doesn't get much better than that.
Each level is filled with swarms of wasp-like jets or tiny mechanoids, broken up by behemoth sub-bosses like a plasma vomiting meteor base or the goliath wing air fortress that shits out storms of bombs and sends lasers in every direction. It's a very fun and stimulating game.
Too bad I can't save my progress though.
Doubtful that any of you have encountered this same problem, but I'm wondering if anyone has had saving issues on their psp when they play an Eboot? Omega Boost lets me save, but it never records my campaign progress. I assume this was just poorly ripped but there is no magic I can possibly work to fix this. I guess I'll just have to buy a copy off amazon one day.
