Master's Miscellaneous: Play PSP With Xbox 360 Controller
masterledz | 2:47 PM on 08.29.2007 6 comments

Got a PSP gathering dust? Ever wanted to play PSP with a wireless 360 controller? No, you say? You don't care? Why on earth is this useful? Read on for this crap regardless...

Well never fear,jay123_2 of the MaxConsole forums is here! Jay has modded his PSP, along with a whole lot of software fumbling, to allow for the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for PC to be compatible with the PSP. The process requires you to use usbhostfs_PC_Win_1.5at and IR shell 3.6.

Look, just follow these six easy steps!

- Get Extreme Link v.1.5.5/usbhostfs_PC_Win_1.5at/IR shell 3.6
- Run configure_joypad.exe in usbhostfs_PC_Win_1.5at
- Config your Wireless joypad then save it in the same folder as usbhosts
- Then run usbhostfs_PC_Win_1.5at
- Then run and link IR shell to pc via usbhost when connected

- Your joypad should work

See, wasn't that easy?!

Since the Xbox 360 controller is much more comfortable than the PSP controls, I suppose this is a pretty innovative idea. However, you can't sit too far away from a PSP and still enjoy the wireless experience while watching your Talladega Nights UMD on the tiny screen.

Here's a video demonstration of all it's glory.

Man, the more I hear about the homebrew PSP community, the more I want in. Must resist spending more money...

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

You're all noobs; GTFO. Or stay to become enlightened by all the Master has to offer.

Are you a nay-sayer of the Master's teachings? An Unbeliever? Blasphemer? Douchebag? Just read these satisfied pupils' unsolicited testimonials...

Do what that person said, he is wise. /\
-Neonie

For the record, nobody.... and I repeat nobody, breaks in noobs to the forums like Masterledz. If he hasn't appeared with his ominous warning, you have to ask yourself if you've really joined Destructoid.

Truer words were never spoken, Master.

There you have it folks; the Master has spoken.

Oh, and one other thing; I like semicolons.
