Last Game I Finished: Imaginary Range

"We constantly have to revisit 'Why would Donkey Kong do this?' or 'Why would this environment be like this?' And then we start thinking: 'We're making a game about a gorilla wearing a tie.'"

"I have to say it's kinda scary how much you know about this game."

Earlier this week Jim Sterling asked a most unfair question of us this holiday season. What game, out of all the games this month, would we pick first? Many of us were taken by surprise with the difficulty of our own decision. Some were absolutely positive on the game they preferred without even a glance back at the rest of the competition.

However, at the end of it all we have reached an Answer.

Despite the fact that there are a slew of games coming out this November, only two came to dominate the comments. One RPG from the west and another from the East. More interesting was what sat in the rest of the pack.

The new and shinier 2D Rayman seemed to push ahead of it's competition. That's a good thing if we want another Beyond Good and Evil.

Modern Warfare didn't do nearly the numbers you would expect from a game that sold over 6 million units in its debut month. Maybe people are too busy playing to notice a simple Question or maybe the game has a counter reaction against it. Perhaps Skyrim and Modern Warfare have the same demographic and Skyrim won out this battle.

All we really know is people are more hype for Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 over King of Fighters XIII. I guess I'll be playing my copy with one other Dtoider. Ah well. On to the chart.

Very cool to see it all in graph form! (I"m a huge fan of statistics!) :)
Oh wow, that's pretty cool.

...

But wait...A TIE?! So you're telling me we still don't have the answer yet? OH THE HUMANITY!
I'm not updating the graph for anybody that wants to come in late to the party. 253 Comments was my cut off point since the thread was pretty much dead.

I've updated the list with some comments I thought were special.
Thanks for throwing that together! P awesome.
I'm REALLY Glad that Rayman: Origins got a pretty good number and that's not because I want Beyond Good and Evil 2. Unless it's a Nintendo game, I can't think of any retail 2D platformer that has done well on consoles. Plus, I'm a big fan of the Rayman series, so I really want this game to succeed.
Skyrim. This has been one of the greatest weekends of all time, me and my brother with our own copies of Skyrim, playing 20 hours a day. I haven't done this in years and years, I feel like a kid again.
I'm totally disappointed Dark Souls was listed so low! That game is sure to be more timeless than Demon's Souls due to its gorgeous open world format and diversity.
This chart pleases me and also points out just how insane this month really is.
@Arttemis
I believe the phrasing of the question hindered everything as it's insane to believe less people planned on picking MW3 over Saints Row. Not disregarding Saints Row, but it isn't going to burn 6.5 million units.

With that, many decided they couldn't choose Dark Souls or some other game and it really became a battle between 2 games that hadn't come out yet.
@Arttemis: It'ss because Dark Souls came out in October. I think Jim wanted people to just pick one November release.
