"We constantly have to revisit 'Why would Donkey Kong do this?' or 'Why would this environment be like this?' And then we start thinking: 'We're making a game about a gorilla wearing a tie.'"
-Michael Kelbaugh of Retro Studios on Donkey Kong Country Returns
"I have to say it's kinda scary how much you know about this game."
-Nicolau Chaud creator of Marvel Brothel
Update: It is about 9:25 PM as I sit down to write this. I woke up 2 hours ago, cleaned the house, ate and shook off some of the fatigue of this event. Right now we sit at $608.28 raised for Children's Miracle Network. I want to thank you for that. Seriously.
Each member of my team made their respective goal. That's really pretty darn cool for me to think about.
Unfortunately, I failed to reach my goal, but I did my best to try and reach it so I have no regrets. Right now we are a few hundred short of the raffle goal and I don't really know what will happen there. I'll have to get in to contact with my donators and we'll see what happens. I seriously thought we'd make it so I haven't even thought about this moment.
Donations are still live, and I'll always ask for your donation. I'm a bit tired (24 hours of gaming does that) so this might be my shortest post on Destructoid since I joined many years ago. However, I want to thank you all for playing games with me and for donating.
I'll update this all tomorrow once my brain is recovered, but let's just end this on I love you all.
Today, I ask that you donate to my cause. I am marathoning for 24 hours straight from 11AM EST to 11AM EST. I ask that you join me, that you have fun with me.
G3 is an event that Microsoft is holding together with the Children's Miracle Hospital system to raise donations for Children's Hospitals across the world. This is a very cool thing and I am doing what I know how to help. I have created a G3 page (check to see how far we've gotten) in the hopes that we as a community of gamers will raise a lot of money to help kids. I want to prove once again that gamers are awesome people and I will need your help.
I'd like to offer you all a prize for being awesome people and donating but I can't until I reach that goal. Oh what a prize I have in store for you. I have 85 codes to hand out to donators once we hit $1000 and we will hit $1000.
So I ask that you come keep me company while I marathon with you. Support me by telling your friends, your family and even your cat. I want to get kids the best health care possible and I hope you'll help me.
I am not an online gamer in the slightest, so I am staying as far away from multiplayer PC games as I can. I'm sure it's easy to configure, I've just never done it. Consoles however are a bit easier for me so hit me up or even leave me a message at any of the IDs above. I'll answer any questions and I'll accept anybody's request to join my game.
Here is my complete schedule including when I go live on Twitch TV. Apparently Trey's internet is out so I'm going to be assuming his role on stream. We'll see what that means, but watch me perform my first live stream. I'm pretty nervous about it.
I won't be able to keep constant updates since I'll be so busy with the stream. Spread the message and hit me up if you want to game.
Schedule Subject to Change
I am taking over for TREY in the late schedule since his internet is borked. I'll be entertaining you longer on stream, but I won't have as much time to game with you personally. Sorry for this. Game on.
