Oh, god. Spider-Man / X-Men. I remember it being such a cool idea and yet such a horrible game.
This one I vaguely, vaguely remember from the arcades and always wanted to play it again. This thing is so rare out in the wild.

@Byronic/Wry
Yeah, that was my first actual comic book game that I owned and I'll have it up tomorrow. It has a bit more backbone to it than this piece due to it being an LJN title.
I have a better memory of Spider-man because the arcade right across from the movie theater in Biloxi would have a machine set up for me and the cousins I was visiting to play when my family just wanted to get rid of us for a few hours. We'd go see a film and then play some games til we ran out of coins.
This game was one of the big ones I used to play, but it sucked down my quarters like nobodies business.
Also, I always had dibs on Namor.
@snaileb
care to elaborate? I'm always up for constructive feedback.

I don't think Snaileb was referring to your post but maybe the game? Cause this post, hell, this series is ace. I remember playing that game and no one wanting to be Black Cat. Oddly enough everyone wanted to be Namor even though most of us had no clue who he was. Through the magic of Mame I have been able to replay this and while its a lovely trip down nostalgia boulevard, the glory is kinda diminished without having some buddies there to talk shit with.
Have you played the G.I.Joe arcade game? It was one of those running in place and moving left to right type shooters. A lot of fun.

@OCCAMS
No I haven't played that one, but it looks intriguing to say the least.
I think it's the only game, outside of that crappy game based on that crappy live action movie, that featured Scarlett. It looks kinda cool and I'm now pissed that none of the arcades I frequented carried this. I would have loved to play a GI Joe shooter game in a crowded arcade.
Black Cat was actually always my backup for some reason. Probably because I wanted Namor and Black Cat was the only one available.
