Nice read! I've never really been a comic book guy myself, but I always enjoy reading ABOUT them. The more passionate comic book nerds (If you'll forgive the term) are actually quite interesting to listen to since they're so knowledgeable about the thing they love.
Oh! And if you want a good "comic" game to talk about, you should check out Astro Boy: Omega Factor on GBA. Not sure if you'd consider Astro Boy a comic since it's manga, but I'd say Astro Boy is well enough known out here to be considered a comic book character. It's a really fun game, even if they do pull the stupid trick of making you play the game twice to get the full story.
@Pekopon
I'm sure most of us nerds would prefer "comic book fans," but I'm also pretty sure we could care less about tag lines.
Treasure's Astro Boy is fantastic. Manga are comic books in Japan so it definitely counts. I've got a Manga in Games thing I'm thinking of which I'll probably start with a crossover set like this, but unfortunately Osamu Tezuka's property is protected from stuff like that so no Astro Boy yet.

Oh this game had so much potential but in the end felt like someone's arts and craft project gone very wrong.
War of the Gems. Nice. That one felt good in my hands. Really, really dug the art for that game. Such detailed sprites.
Did you ever play the Robocop vs Terminator game? It was an odd beast. Terrible controls but great style.

I remember renting the SNES version in my younger days and being terribly unimpressed with it. The game certainly looked the part, but man it felt unnatural to play through. Maybe if I had more time to understand the game now I'd have a different opinion on it, but in the 90s it was make it or break it. RvT just broke.
I also believe this is the first comic book game I actually owned. I'm iffy on if the original X-men for the Genesis won out, but I'm pretty sure this took the cake. Man did I hate having to replay the Spidey stuff over and over to get my Wolverine on.

"At least the music provided by Tim and Geoff Follin is entertaining."
The rest of the game can go to hell for the most part, but the music was by far my favorite thing. Those beats! Those rad licks! That wah wah pedal in the character select, Spider-man stage, and Cyclops stage tunes! The OST was just totally brilliant. I enjoy Plok's music for much the same reason, though at least in Plok's case the game was actually fun.
