Tabula Rasa for some reason missing in NCSoft's QI report
madninja | 8:28 PM on 06.08.2008 3 comments

When NCSoft's financial reports for Q1 of 2008 hit the internet people were wondering "Hey, is Richard Garriott's Tabula Rasa going the way Auto Assault?" and Massively have read through the report and found piratically nothing on Tabula Rasa. Tabula Rasa was only noted twice in the report, once in the Online Game Sales Mix by Game section and the Royalties Breakdown section.

In both of those areas it doesn't bode well for Richard Garriott's new MMO adventure (all other MMOs are like Whack a Mole, best quote ever) with only 75,000 active subscribers to the original 150,000 subscribers at launch. Also note that Richard Garriott's last MMO, Ultima Online, also has about 75,000 subscribers.

Check out the rest of the report at http://www.massively.com/ a cool MMO news site, that is where I got the picture and the story.

I saw a bunch of Tabula Rasa collector's edition for cheap in Gamestop. I would have grabbed one, but I honestly don't think Tabula Rasa will be around much longer.

Wow, Age of Conan and WarHammer seem to be all people are talikng about nowadays anyway.

I bought a Tabula Rasa Collectors Edition for $5. Never played the game, but neat stuff it comes with ;P.

I played Tabula Rasa for about a day on a trial account, it must take a very special kind of individual to draw pleasure from playing that game. If a common complaint about World of Warcraft is the player's total inability to truly affect the world in any permanent way, Tabula Rasa throws that fact in your face repeatedly, having new members of the alien menace teleport into place to resupply a squad you've killed moments ago. It's not satisfying at all, and frankly you've fucked up when your players can't enjoy something as halcyon as firing guns at aliens.
