maarken | 1:23 AM on 10.08.2007 20 comments

indeed. the time has come for me to venture forth and procure a ps3! after accumulating approx $400 from my birthday last week, i am going to set out and buy the 60gb model tomorrow. what a way to commemorate columbus and all his exploratory designs! =D

but yes, i am definitely picking up resistance and prolly a copy of VF5 and/or ncaa08. any other recommendations?

put money if you can all about $100 on your psn account and you can get warhawk street fighter puzzle 2 flow and a bunch of other good titles to download it wqill be way more worth it than 2 games on BR-Disc

I would give the Darkness a try. If you're into games with an intriguing story, I would at least give it a rental. Also, if you wait a bit, Folklore is coming out sometime soon, as well as Jericho.

Yeah man. Warhawk. Heavenly Sword is good but short so you may want to rent it.

Definitely pick up Oregon Trail for PS3. It's got the best graphics yet on the system.

Way better titles than Resistance. Even Heavenly Sword over Resistance (not for game play specifically, just so you can see that the PS3 is a contender).

Then pick up an Xbox 360.

Or just pick up Oblivion until the best PS3 titles start finally pouring out (Little Big Planet OMG)

skate. is really cool, Oblivion GOTY comes with a bunch of extras, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is hard as crap, but cool. RENT Heavenly Sword if you aren't sure about it. I had a lot of fun with it. Folklore comes out tomorrow, but you should try the demo before buying it, it's really cool, but I heard it's kind of repetitive, but you can go online and play other people's custom levels as well as make them yourself. Congrats dude, coolness awaits you. Real gamers will enjoy all systems alike, so if you don't have a 360, consider one when they stop breaking.

If you even remotely like racing games Motorstorm's a great game. With the exception of VF5 there are demos for pretty much every game worth buying. And ratchet and clank and uncharted are out soon so if money's an issue you may want to wait for one of those since they're looking good.

Thanks for the tips, most of you lol.
I got the system but had some conflicts with my AmEx gift cards (some people just don't learn to give Best Buy gift cards, but oh well) and had enough to only get the system. My girlfriend bought me Resistance, which is fine by me. I love the game and she enjoys watching/playing it too.

I got the demo for both skate and folklore and decided that I will be buying those games ASAP, that being as soon as my car decides to stop taking my money and breaking.

Literally the day after I bought the PS3 my car went to pieces.

So far I've spent about $500 repairing it and I'm looking at spending another $400 before the month is out ><

Anyway, at least I have a lovely sleek black new game system which doesn't present me with a red death circle to welcome me home every night!

Haha.

Oh and yes, I will be buying a 360, but following brain derailments advice, after they stop breaking. =)

And yes, LittleBigWorld will be freakin sweet!
