New Sonic Game Might Actually Be Good

It's going to be 2D, this is a step in the right direction. This is great news as I am currently trying to slog my way through Sonic 06 to prove that I'm manly and to laugh at the awful cutscenes. (Protip: Sonic 06 is the worst game ever, distrust any outlet who gave it a score above 0)

This however, may be good. It may even be great. The point is I'm actually excited for a Sonic game for the first time in a loooong time. Let's hope the cycle doesn't continue.

P.S. Am I the only one who thinks that the SEGAAAAA at the beginning was the best part?

At this point I wouldn't even care if they took Mario out of his platformer and inserted a Sonic model instead. My god just give Sonic his honor back.

@Solvom: hell, they even gave him a sword for seppuku purposes. If he can't live with honor, perhaps he should die with some.

The confirmation that each new Sonic game is going to suck is like the confirmation that each new Zelda game is going to be delayed or pushed back a year, something that is expected and doesn't get to me anymore.

If this has actual 2D graphics instead of just 2D gameplay on a 3D plane, then I am fucking sold.

At least Sonic Team knows what the fuck we want out of a Sonic game if this trailer is any indication. Let's hope they don't fuck up!

I'm not sure, but I think they used the term "Built from the ground up" wrong. Isn't it supposed to be followed by WHAT it was built from the ground up FOR? I mean just saying something is built from the ground up is kinda just saying... "Hey, we made this. What's up.?"

Sounds promising with the 2-D and all, just as long as it's good 2-D platforming. None of that Sonic Rush stuff with its random instant death gaps.

Holy shit... If this is for the 360 or DS, I'm going to be very very upset. I need to be able to play a 2D Sonic game for once.

$20 says that it'll still be hated by the fans for not having/having too many animal friends, having/not having 2D/3D gameplay, and 100% for it having Sonic in there.

I've never seen an unpleasable fanbase bigger than that of Sonic.
