Why is it so GD hard to post an avatar on Destructoid!?

No real blog here today. I'm just pissed off and want to vent. I don't know if it's the web browsers (Firefox or IE) that causes the "Bad avatar URL. Woof woof" error or the websites that I try to use avatars from. The BBcode doesn't want to work for me either. I just want to have an avatar attached to my comments like everyone else. Two months of failure has taken its toll.

I will gladly allow you to call me "WE TODD EDD" if you can tell me how to get the f'n avatars to work right.

You have to put the direct image URL in... if you're putting a web page (like you have currently) it's going to give that error message.

http://www.avatarist.com/avatars/Cartoons/Family-Guy/Join-The-Party.gif instead of http://www.avatarist.com/avatars/Cartoons/Family-Guy/Join-The-Party.html

Since most sites frown upon hotlinking, get a free Photobucket or Imageshack account, upload the avatar there, and copy the "Direct Link" into Dtoid's avatar field.
