On the recent 1up yours podcast it was confirmed that Mark Mcdonald was leaving Ziff Davis. He also confirmed that he was moving to Austin to work with BIOWARE ON THE NEW HALO RPG!!!! Holy fucking shit
this is huge news. They also said the title was called Halo Origins volume 1: The Forerunner chronicles. He also made sure to mention that he was only working on the single player aspect of the game. This seems to open up a whole can of worms in terms of EA and Microsoft's relationship, if Microsoft says it's ok for EA to make the next halo maybe they made sure the rest of the mass effect trilogy will stay xbox exclusive. Who knows what else this could mean. All I know is halo RPG made by bioware makes my shorts moist.

Edit: Well I'm dumb 86 minutes into the podcast Mcdonald says it was a joke and the rest of the 1up crew call him a douche. Looks like I suck the big dick of disgrace.

WTF was this guy talking about a press release though...I didn't hear shit!

Oh well, please don't eff it up...I'll wait and see how Mass Effect goes first.

Halo RPG? How would that even work? Here's a text-based example;

Halo RPG? WTF? I am a huge halo fan boy, and curious about the upcoming RTS Halo Wars. This just sounds like a huge disappointment. I can see the hype already... "One chief to rule them all"

This could be potentially awesome. Even more so if Bioware is involved.

There's plenty of mythology from halo that could be used for this game. Keep in mind that Spartans were originally supposed to work as squads not lone one man armies. Assuming they eveen use spartans in this game.

Oh man, you're serious. Here I thought you were doing this for the lulz. But, um ya, I gotta agree with everyone who says this sounds stupid. The main reason I play Halo is to shoot stuff and this kinda defeats the point of that.

I'd say give Bioware the benefit of the doubt. I remember Penny Arcade mentioning them as one of the two companies they'd pick to take over the Halo franchise, but only if MS was ready to make Halo as epic as the commercials tried to make it seem. (I forgot the other company.) This could be interesting.

Also, it's good to finally hear something about Peter Jackson's Halo project. I was starting to think it was vaporware.
