Oki now I think everyone remembers when the french minister of culture knighted (or whatever he did) 3 game designers like 2 years ago, and decided to consider videogames as art.




Well it's all LIES

The other day I went to the goverment culture thing office (whatever it's called), for reasons I cannot say. And well while the minister may consider it art, the other people of the goverment don't and laughed at my face. No one there even knows anything about games and just thinks they are "shoot shoot bam bam kill kill", it was kind of awful and well everyone there I tried to explain that games aren't just mindless entertainement but they didn't get it at all. It's kind of sad.

So I guess they have never played Beyond Good And Evil and Okami...

Anyway so what is kind of stupid is that in France well only french videogames can compete internationally, french music and movies don't go out of the country. Yet France is not that supportive of videogames like they claim to be.

I guess it was just PR crap to look good, and hip.

But why does the french goverment say it considers videogames as art, if no one who works in the culture departement (art) thinks otherwise.
