CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE VARIETY

MAP PACK AVAILABLE NOW FOR WINDOWS PC

NVIDIA Offering New Maps as a Free Download through nZone.com

Santa Monica, CA – June 5, 2008 – New battle zones are emerging on the Windows® PC front and Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) is putting out the call for new recruits starting today as Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™ Variety Map Pack for Windows PC is now available online. Sponsored by NVIDIA, the Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™ Variety Map Pack is available for download, free of charge. For updates about download destinations, visit: www.charlieoscardelta.com or www.nzone.com.

The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Variety Map Pack features four new multiplayer maps including “Broadcast,” featuring tight corridors and wide open parking lots where large groups will utilize close-quarter fighting and strategic maneuvers; “Chinatown” where night battles well lit by the full moon can play havoc against a backdrop of brightly colored lamps, antique shops and neon signs of the local district; “Killhouse,” a desolate warehouse under enemy attack where squads will need to move through building mock-ups and plywood walls in order to take control of the combat arena; and “Creek,” a wide open village in a heavily wooded area where battles are fought among high ridgelines and deep in underground caves.

“We are delighted to reward GeForce owners with this fantastic new map pack from Infinity Ward,” said Roy Taylor, vice president of content relations at NVIDIA. “This is our way of saying thanks to Activision for an incredible game and also our way to give something back to the PC gaming community. Now go download it from nzone.com and I’ll see you online!”

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is rated “M” (Mature) by the ESRB for Intense Violence, Strong Language, Blood and Gore. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is included in NVIDIA’s The Way It’s Meant To Be Played program.

What's with the soulless press releases? It's almost as if you're some kind of ad bot or AI.

Wait, could it be? Are you one of the Patriots?

Those bastards! They-they've finally gone and done it! They're using GW to take over Destructoid (the last remaining haven for freedom of speech) by controlling the flow of gaming information...

Can't be.

SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!

GTFO.

I think people are just trying to say that CAPS LOCK IS NOT CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL neither is multiple blogs in a row :)

If you know a lot of the latest news it might be worth tips@destructoid.com and telling them. They will credit you!

LAMEBOYMATT: The info you got? This is all old news. Please, no press releases. We don't need that in the community blogs.

At least write up some of your thoughts on the games you're supposedly "reporting" about.

Yeah, a press release isn't a story. It's only the start of one.

This looks an awful lot like a bad cut-and-paste, which I'm pretty sure is not the point here.

Welcome, hopefully you improve but right now this sucks. Make sure you're "news" wasn't already on the front page of the site as many of these stories were and give us something else to read than random press releases. We can all get those anywhere.

Remember rule number 1 is don't suck.

1) If it's old news (i.e. more than a day), we've heard of it. The internet has ways of getting this stuff around.

2) If it is actually new news, posting a press release is fail and never acceptable. Post quotes of the news mixed in with your own impressions and opinions for maximum WINage.

For now, though? God damn, you suck.

Why? Because I disagree with being dicks to people constantly?

Just tell the kid how not to fail and get the fuck over it. We don't need 20,000 little bitch-boys all spamming "FAIL" and "GTFO" all day. If that is what this community is...Why would ANYONE stay?

Sop kindly GTFO yourself. Or something.

Schmo0zle: It's been said a lot, and I'll try to say it as best as I can. When someone posts, we want it to be thought provoking and not a lazy trite article. We want new community members, yes. But we will not allow the C-blogs to become like so many other gaming websites. This is our own little way of keeping a balance.

I understand, but spamming "GTFO" isn't going to help that. You have to 'splain things to people.

I only see three "GTFO". And most of the other comments are 'splaining why this post sucks.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
