Mass Effect on PC... sigh
l0cke | 11:56 PM on 06.20.2008 15 comments

So I just finished mass effect on PC. It was pretty disappointing.

I mean, the game was great, but there where so many glitches it was almost impossible to play.

Example: A known glitch where weapons that overheat will not cool down. Ever. The only way to stop it is to save and reload the game. You cannot save in combat though. This becomes particularly annoying when you fight a boss who has grenades that make your weapon instantly overheat.

Lucky for me, I did not actually buy the game, thus EA made no money from this scam.

I was thinking about getting this, but im a little short on funds. The game funds I do have available is for cod4 on pc. Maybe I will download a demo of this...

I've had a few glitches the worst one I had was walking in to an elevator and the doors wouldn't close.

I couldn't move and was stuck but I could still move the camera around.

I loved it for 360 but there were definitely glitches in the game that made me wonder if they even tested it before they shipped it.

I've been getting terrible glitches. The game consistently crashes my computer every 30 minutes, elevators don't always work, graphics don't display properly, etc. In short this game needs a big patch.

EA only published the PC version...Also, who cares about EA? you should be supporting BioWare for making such a gorgeous game.

didn't experience to many glitches on the 360, some serious texture-pop-in though...

@Eschatos

I thought I was the only one get a lot of crashes. Yeah, a patch would help a lot. Still the game is alright.

the overheating glitch, as well as a bunch of other ones were caused by a poorly made crack, so it's your own fault, and even worse there is a remade crack that fixed that problem which you obviously didn't find.

if you HAD paid for the game then it would have been fine, so blame your own stupid self and not bioware. hell you would have enjoyed it more if you were a better pirate.

LOL@ PC gaming.

Thats the only glitch ive come across, and it hardly makes it impossible.

And Psycho terror.... no. You are quite wrong. Go to the mass effect support forums. You'll find that actually, the cracks made to fix problems such as the galaxy map are/were the ONLY solution to problems that plagued EVERYONE.

@ ajaxender

problems that plagued EVERYONE... but not you since the overheating bug is the only glitch you've come across.

failtastic.

There's an annoying glitch on the 360 version that makes the game tedious and boring. Does that appear in the PC version?

Ah Mass Effect, so much promise, so little delivered. Personally I had plenty of random glitches and bugs but my greatest annoyance was the piece of shit inventory. Words cannot describe how horrible that system is. How did nobody realise it was utter shite during development.

Then theres the unchartered worlds that are all the same save a different texture and the same 3/4 points of interest being in different places. Also, would it have killed to make some more varied interiors?
