Destructoid easily has the most British users out of any site I go to, and technically, I'm 1/4 British. I say technically because, although my grandfather was from Montreal, he became a citizen in 1932, 50 years before Canadian independence.

I'm a proud Michigander, and I appreciate some motherfucking jazz.

Up to now, I have earned
2 Dolphin King Badges
2 Gold Retroid Badges
1 Silver Retroid Badge

I have been on the front page 1 time

Fuck yeah!

Why my experience with Metroid Prime 3 will be a lot different from yours
kwaselow | 11:30 AM on 08.11.2007 17 comments

I've had a lot of unique experiences with videogames. I've played Zoop while hospitalized, I've played Pokemon Red while crying in the lobby of a mental institution (which sounds a lot funnier when taken out of context), and come August 27th, I will know what it's like to play Metroid Prime 3 while heavily sedated with painkillers. This is because 2 days before the release of Metroid Prime 3, I will be playing a lesser known game called Super Wisdom Teeth Removal, which I will play on expert difficulty (that's the mode where all 4 of my wisdom teeth get removed). I plan on writing about the experience, probably after I stop needing the painkillers, so you all can have some idea what it's like.

Kids, Zoop was a mildly popular puzzle game for the SNES and Sega Genesis.

I hate to break it to you, but the painkillers they give you for wisdom teeth are not the drugs you're looking for.

I had mine pulled when I was 14 and I went bowling the next day. You're going to have a great first day because your local anesthetic will not have worn off completely, but it will suck because you won't want to do anything but sleep.

But I look forward to what your experience is like anyway.

Mine was great. They gave me pills for the night before, pills for the ride to there, pils for the ride back, and a ton left over.

Percocet for $3 a pill!!

Well, I have pills to take an hour before the surgery... but those are antibiotics. Yay heart problems!

You're probably going to get a prescription for some tylenol with codine. If you manage to get fucked up off those then please give me your doctor's contact info cause I need to switch doctors.

It's a good job its not an audio or video review, christ you'll be drooling more than a baby teething!

Little tip for after the fact: big soft noodles are your friend. Rotini, seashells, large macaroni, whatever floats your boat. Anything you can more or less eat without having to chew.

@bluemeep

I would've guessed that because I used to have braces, and for a few days after they were first installed, all I could eat was macaroni and cheese without chewing

I got some generic vicodin after I had mine out. Keep in mind, I had all 4 taken out at once and they had to break two and dig them out of my gums.

If you do get some it'll probably to take one to two pills depending on the pain. DO NOT TAKE TWO PILLS! I tried this and the result was me passing out on my keyboard and then waking up in the bathroom in the fetal position.

Fun times it was not.

Percocet was marvelous for me. With all four teeth removed, I don't personally recall much of my time on it, except that I was extremely mirthful. My family tells me that at one point I spent three hours lying down laughing at my ceiling. And I don't mean just getting the chuckles looking at it, I mean that I was actively mocking and deriding it. I was getting cheap lulz at the expense of the roof over my head.

Opiates and Videogames were made for each other. It's almost exclusively the best way to play a game.
