Do me a favor, name as many Nintendo characters who are the focus of their own IP as you can off the top of your head. Chances are, you said Mario, Link, Samus, DK and probably Fox McCloud or Wario. Maybe you said Pikachu. Hell, some of you guys probably even said Mr. Game and Watch. But I'm willing to bet that very few of you, if any, said Kirby.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe everybody said his name, but I'm sure about this: Kirby is vastly under-appreciated. Why? Is it because his primary method of attack is sucking and swallowing? Side note: Ladies, if this also happens to be
your preferred method of attack, give me a call. The truth is, Kirby is one of the most unique characters there is. When you boil it down, Mario's a plumber who can jump, Link's a dude with a sword, and Samus is Mega Man with boobs. Kirby, however, is somebody who can suck you into his mouth, swallow you, and steal your powers (Remember, ladies, swallowing gives you power).
What I'm trying to say here is that Kirby doesn't get enough love. I've never played a Kirby game that wasn't fun (yes, I liked Air Ride), but sometimes it feels like I'm the only one awaiting eventual his arrival onto the Wii (and Kirby 64's arrival on the Virtual Console). Your thoughts?
Note: I
love Mario, Link and Samus, and I wasn't trying to be too harsh with those reductions, but I had a point to make.
There's gonna be a new BK game in due time for the 360. Abnd they're not under-appreciated. Ask anybody to name their favorite N64 platformer that isn't Super Mario 64.

Rofals!
If any Nintendo IP is underrated it's Earthbound. Not underrated in a gamer sense, but in a Nintendo sense. 2 whole generations without a (US released) sequel... wtf?
