Hello, I'm new around here. This is my 1st blog, I hope to contribute and not suck. Here goes!
I have read much about the delay of Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the internet. Most people are just angry, but some are more skeptical. Some believe it will not see it's Feb 10, 2008 release, but another delay instead. These naysayers cite the usually slow game sales during that time period. I'm not one to complain, as it sure seems Nintendo is using the extra time to cram Brawl with every last possible feature, but here is something for those skeptical about the release date:

.
Yes, Super Mario Bros. 3. It's one of my favorites, so I'm not sure if it's common knowledge that it was released in North America on Feb. 12, 1990. It went on to sell over 17 million copies, extending the life of the NES and proving that February is a fine time to sell games. Anyway.....
The NY Times has an
article about Ratchet and Clank on their website. They seem to feel that R&C is setting a new standard in graphics. Here is a quote:
All that is changing this week with the release of Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for Sony’s PlayStation 3 console. The new Ratchet is a watershed for gaming because it provides the first interactive entertainment experience that truly feels like inhabiting a world-class animated film.
Evidence of the Times' claims.
Well, as an owner of the game, I can certainly say that some of the game is very impressive, but at the same time I can tell you that it's not quite up to Pixar quality yet. Planet Cobalia, as stated in the Destructoid review, is truly something to behold, as are a few other levels. But there are also parts that barely look better than the old gsmes. Occassional muddy texturs that don't quite fit their surroundings are very noticable.
Either way, the game is great, and is a good indicator of what the PS3 is capable of. I find myself more concerned with the clear bias in the article. I wonder if the NY Times' credibility has been compromised by Sony's wallet. But I digress. The game is a ton of fun and a definite buy for any PS3 owner.
Well, I hope my first blog didn't suck, and I look forward to your insight and feedback as well as your continued blogging. And remember, don't blog too much. Play games.
And that was a pretty good first blog, anyway it makes sense that we get angry when they tell us some date and then just change it, but as long as it continues looking this good and they do add more stuff and the final product is as great as we expect it, then the whole delay thing will be forgotten in a week or too.
Damnit i failed =(, it's teh haloz fault i swear!!
**goes back to playing infection before they take it away **
But a delay, even if it is so a game doesn't get crowded out, is still a good thing. Normally, like MP3, it is to get the game to work well. If MP3 was released as a release game with the Wii god knows what we'd have gotten, so I'm glad it was polished.
And given the nuts amount of games I'm going to have by December, I'll have more than enough to keep me busy till February. If Smash was released on top of my already large shopping list I think my head would explode.
Good first post, and I agree that delays just mean that they'll hopefully get it right the first time and not release a broken game or one that needs patches. I do think you had a rather abrupt jump from talking Mario to talking R&C, though.
P.S. Change your blog header.
anyways, time for me sleepy
And don't listen to COONSKIN, he's an ass and Zidane rocks, as FF9 was the best ever.
EVER.
Also, always listen to Snaileb, and also listen to Coonskin.
Failure to do so will cause massive system failure.
Finally, if you feel light-headed from thirst, feel free to pass out.
On a side note, does anyone think this will be the last Super Smash Bros. game ever? Just look at how much they are packing into the game...what could they do to one-up this?
