Hello Dtoiders! I've decided to try blogging here a little, and I'll shamelessly promote my blog by including the fact I work at Bioware in the title.

I'm currently working on Mass Effect 2 as a system designer. What does that mean? It means I'm responsible for ensuring we have fun gameplay and RPG systems for the game.

Ooooh ... boyfriend wants to play RE5 demo! I'll have to make this quick! We've both been so busy with work we haven't actually had a chance to play it yet, but RE4 is in my top 10 games of all time list so I have high hopes.

I might as well talk a bit about my destructoid background. I've actually been around for quite some time but I haven't really been that involved with the community before now.

I first found destructoid a couple years back just through links to various articles. I enjoyed the irreverent clever writing style which helps differentiate it from other gaming sites (it's easy to be irreverent, it's hard to be clever!) I started reading destructoid in google reader.

Then my boyfriend got me an ipod so I decided to give podcasts a try. I tried retroforce go and really loved (and still love) how Chad, Dyson, Topher and Collette get so excited in a loveable way over retro games (Stella is awesome too). As a game designer, who played mostly PC games as a kid, I've really benefited from listening to you guys talk about retro games and why you love them! I also picked up Podtoid shortly therafter (in the immediately post Rob Suma days). Podtoid is also super awesome in a different way (though I miss Tiff).

I met a bunch of the destructoid crew at GDC last year. I ran into Rev Anthony and Chad on an escelator and actually recognized them from their voices from the podcast (pretty weird asking someone "are you reverend anthony?" on an escalator. I met a few more people at destructoid's wrap party (Dyson you are AWESOME and throw AWESOME parties). I will be at GDC this year as well so if you'll be there I'll probably see you at some point!
