I have nearly every Nintendo system that has ever come out, I'm basically a fanboy, but I got a 360 about 3 months ago. Since the Wii is just a dust magnet right now I basically play KotOR, Bioshock, and COD4.

To 360 or Not to 360.

With the release of CoD4 last week the rush of amazing games has only just begun and I have a dilemma. I own a 360, and TECHNICALLY own a PC. Ok, I don't actually own a PC, I have a Mac. With the possibility of getting a gaming PC not looking good, what does Destructoid think about getting CoD4 for the 360? The only opinion I've really seen is from the PP community and they are the haven for PC elitists.

Umm I would get the 360. your missing out on a great community to chat/game with.

I have the PC version but there's nothing wrong with getting the 360 one. You won't be missing anything besides the keyboard and mouse controls and higher player counts in MP.

It's a great game, I still think the longevity of the single player is a mighty shame. I finished it in one brief sitting and felt pretty cheated, it was an action packed, fun session mind.

I have played almost every online shooter since the 360's launch. I can honestly say that COD4 is easily in the top 3 already. Right next to TF2, both of which are just above teh haloez. So ummm...yea.....buy it.

I know the game is good, the question on if it is worth it on the 360 since the PC is obviously the preferred platform.

Although I haven't played CoD4 yet, the franchise is no longer PC prioritised. Publishers know they'll make faaaaaar more money on console releases than PC ones, and they put appropriate effort into making the game as good on consoles as possible, see bioshock/GoW. Seeing as you own a 360, you're probably not opposed to the idea of playing console FPSes, so I'd say just go for it.

Ah, for the days when playing any FPS other than goldeneye on a console was seen as the height of philistinery...

Depends on where your friends are. Let's face it: CoD4 is a multiplayer game. No point on getting it for the PC if your friends are on the 360 and vice versa.
