Same thing happened to me. But then again Pokemon was really, really popular..really.
The first thing that came to my mind was "what an awesome monopoly board"

The first thing I thought of is it's too pretty to throw against a wall. I hate Monopoly like an Irish hit man hates Bruges. But I've been there before. Me and a friend were in a Walmart looking for toy light sabers so we asked a clerk and then suddenly realized we were too old for them. The guy gave us a weird look so my friend blurted out "it's uhh for my brother Tim." It was of course around Christmas so he couldn't help adding "we call him tiny Tim because, he's uhh really short." And then I couldn't help adding "yea and that damn scrooge won't let him have one." And then we ran away because we were laughing way too hard and I think the guy was about to call security.
Sooooo... WHY shouldn't that be the first thing to pop into your mind?

This guy has the same problem. Although it could be argued that being a biologist is a good indicator of being a too much of a nerd in and of itself.

Ahahaha, that’s awesome...I thought of just the Pokémon, but the top hat and monocle really make it that much better. You know what’s really bad? Walking around New York City listening to RFGO! or Podtoid. It’s really hard to keep myself from laughing out loud, and then people give me these strange looks like I’m going insane...
And Im not buying another Monopoly until they invent a better way to hold your cash. Im still pulling Monopoly money out of my cushions circa 1989.

I thought the same thing! I saw the "Onyx Edition" at Barnes & Noble one day and I thought it was going to be some badass rap edition of Monopoly... no such luck. It was black though.

A good monopoly player has his own methods - I stick them under the board, and I'm thinking I'll start actually putting it in my wallet, for realness!

They have a special edition monopoly where the transactions are done through credit card. So there really isn't anymore money instead you just swipe a card when you pay taxes or buy a property
