Amazing New Halo 3 Technique
king3vbo | 11:11 AM on 10.24.2007 22 comments

In this video, found here at mlgpro.com, 2 Halo players have developed a new technique that lets you jump off of most surfaces in the game... well I would not call it a technique so much as a physics glitch. But anyways, apparently its done by hitting a corner and crouching and uncrouching in a certain way... though I am not sure exactly how they do it. The makers of the video have not said anything about how they did it. Anyways, enjoy. Its pretty interesting to see what they can do.

I can deal with this glitch. I was worried it would have been the dreaded super jump.

I'm goint to have to try that out when I get home. I hope they fix it though since that leaves the game open to a lot of asshole campers.

I'm with Tino, If you are skilled enough to pull these off then you deserve it. I was going to be pissed if that super jump shit was back. That's what made me stop playing Halo 2.

For all those people who believe winning is everything, we have physics exploits.

For everyone else, we have boobs to touch.

MLG people always take games to seriously, but this technique looks like it could be useful and easy to pull off.

Never leave yourself "open" when "asshole campers" are around.

Hmm... how is that not a superjump in specific situations? He does cover some huge distances in a couple of those shots. Also, that may be a useful tactic for defending, but I'd like to see some actual battle footage to show that you could do this and not be annihilated in the process.

Sticking the Mongoose and jumping off of it was pretty damn cool.

@ZeroTolo

It's not like a superbounce, which would effectively put you on top of a map and make you damn hard to kill. Most of these are useful for accessing already accessible parts of a map in new ways.

Also, these wouldn't be used in "actual battle." Instead, they would be used to "get the jump" on your opponent by attacking them from directions they don't expect. It's like a lot of the tougher jumps on Lockout when they were first discovered. It's the small element of surprise that gives you an edge. Once you've made it there though, it's time for typical fighting tactics, there will be little fancy jumping.

Cool for Halo, but I still have a hard time caring, probably because I've been rocket jumping since the min '90s. (lol Quake)
