I've been going to destructoid and I finally realized I really don't like the site mostly because there is a bad mix of attitudes there.
One side of destructoid is like a hyper 12 year old, where they tell terrible jokes and they think they are the funniest people around.
Basically this side of is summed up by "hey I just said a bad word I'm awesome and funny."

The other side is the hipster side which I find even more annoying. Its the side that is super into inde games.
I can't tell you how many times destructoid has had the attitude of "I play inde games that makes me cooler than you and makes you a idiot because you play normal games." I remember once they basically said assassin's creed was pile of crap because this other guy spent 10 years in his basement making this 8-bit 3 minute long game.

anthony does not find deeper meanings or interesting things. He just whines that good and evil systems in game are not very good, or he didn't get a challenge from metal gear soild 3. when everyone knows that metal gear games are for watching kojima's crazy story unfold.

Man, its sucks that DToid is only about to different editors on the site.

If only there was an early reality TV star that loved the Wii, a guy that likes old school shooters, a guy that SPORTS, a guy that's all about dragons and workingout, a dude that runs around with a robot head on, a guy that's all about Rock Band, ladies named Ashley doing amazing video content, and a whole bunch of community members with widely varying opinions and backgrounds.

This site really blows for this person in only two specific ways guys. Why are we all having so much fun here??

Hmmm... I don't seem to be in either of those camps. I swear occasionally but that's never the intent nor context of any blogs I write or comments I make. At 47 years old, I've also outgrown most of the 12 year old toilet humour (though occasionally it's still funny!).

I'm also most definitely not into indie games - just rarely my thing. I tend to play the "popular" titles.

Not sure how long you've been here... but apparently you just haven't found the right crowd yet. Most of those childish and "12 year old" type comments are generally found on childish and 12 year old type blogs. It's a way of making fun of the author and telling them to do better. This use of humour is better than the nasty stuff you'll sometimes find in other communities.

If you read the good blogs, you find the good comments. If you write good blogs, you'll get good comments. Pretty simple really.
