Why do you need to import a game that's been released in America already?

Unless its not out in the UK which seems odd considering most of this stuff sells like crazy everywhere.

Wii Sport Resort won't be in America till the 25. My friend imported the Japanese version, which was released June 26, because he has a Japanese Wii that he had gotten during his time in the navy.
