a little matlocking (or just reading the netflix ad on my 360) led me to the article released on the xbox website
Obviously, Netflix and microsoft have teamed up.
However, the announcements and speculation may be deceiving.
"This movie-watching innovation will be available to Xbox LIVE® Gold members who are also Netflix subscribers, and will let those users enjoy streaming movies from Netflix on Xbox LIVE at no additional cost."
The way I read it, you have to be a subscriber (aka having movies sent to your home) to partake in the website to 360 streaming fun.
Xbox 360 and Netflix Team Up
read the article, and decipher it as you will.
A - utter bullshit AND
B - enough incentive added to gold that demos should be released the same day for silver accounts going forward.
Netflix is a waste anymore if you don't watch more that 10 movies a month.. and how many people do that.. or have the time for that.
In the past 9 months or so, I've been seening "Red Box" stations pop up all over the place. And, to be honest, are much better and quicker, and CHEAPER, than any other service.
Red Box movies are $1.07 a night. That's it. You rent a movie, watch it, return it within 24 hours. Granted it doesn't have 50 million movies like stores do, but it does have all the latest releases, and they are usually in stock.
@trailerparkjesus- netflix acutally answers this question, here it is-
We have made a business decision not to carry these types of titles.
sorry
sounds great if you already have netflix and gold membership... otherwise, netflix would need to pump up some good movies on instant watch (they're working on it) and having to be a gold member is a load of horse manure... you'll barely be using the xbox network as netflix already has the engine & bandwidth built in... but somone's gotta pay =/... suckers...
so looks like the computer stays hooked up to the tv since i cant watch netflix on my mac either...
WHY... cant we all just get along... =(
And I have no idea, but you could probably ask in the forums.
