Today I turned 21 and I think it was the best birthday I've had. Incidentally, I didn't do any drinking simply because I've already had some bad experiences with alcohol, not that I have any problem with people drinking it in general. However! I did get some totally random presents, which is what made it the best birthday ever! I realized how many awesome people I have in my life and that they put a lot of time and effort into getting awesome presents even though I didn't ask for anything.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Soundtrack
MY FAVORITE PRESENT!! The Jr. High youth minister at my church freaking imported it for me! When he gave it to me this morning I was totally speechless. Maybe it's because we just became friends this summer, or maybe it's because it was totally out of the blue, but for someone to care enough about me to get me a present THIS awesome effects me in a big way. It really showed me just how big of a heart this guy has. Oh and the soundtrack is MIND-BLOWINGLY EPIC!!

Blackberry Curve
Another present that I really wasn't expecting. I knew that the economy had hit him pretty hard this year, so I didn't ask him for anything, but he's such a giving person that I don't think he had it in him to not get something. What a great guy... I hope I can grow to be half the man he is.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor
One of the most underrated games ever! I was so happy that my friend got this for me. He actually bought it for himself, but ended up giving it to me because he's THAT awesome. It's a game made by Treasure so it's very pretty, fun, and simple. He also bought me that NES Nascar game... As a joke. EW. However, it is still in the plastic wrapping that it was bought in so maybe I can get something for it on E-Bay? Not likely...

Kirby Super Star Ultra
From my amazing girlfriend! She's pretty much the best gift giver ever. She also bought me a bunch of candy and cashews (I LOVE CASHEWS) as well as the scarf that you see in the picture. I love the scarf, it's so comfy and warm. However, Kirby tops it all. He's her favorite video game character so this gift meant a lot to me. It's a decent game too! I wish it was a bit longer, but I am really enjoying it.

Metal Slug 7
From another friend of mine. He also bought me "Over the Top" with Sylvester Stallone because we like to watch manly movies together. We also like to laugh at awful movies together so it fits in that department as well. Metal Slug 7 was his main gift though. I do have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the game itself, and even though it's still a great game, it's just doesn't stand out like some of the others in the series. However, it made a stellar gift!!

Gauntlet 1&2
Another friend bought me these. I was really glad too because I almost bought them a couple of days before! Both are awesome games and I needed more co-op stuff for my NES anyway. Incidentally, I bought him a game he already had so I feel REALLY bad and need to get him something awesome as well. What a great guy.

Sparkling Grape Juice & Katamari Damacy Soundtrack
This was from a kid that sort of mentor. I wasn't expecting him or the others in our discipleship group to get me anything at all, but they threw me a small party out of their own 15 year-old pockets which blows my mind!! The Katamari Damacy Soundtrack was burned on a disk, but still! I mean, the kid bought me a cake, streamers, and lots of other stuff! The best part though? He bought me nonalcoholic sparkling grape juice, crossed out the "non", and wrote "BEER" all over it. Haha! I love these guys. We played Super Nintendo and watched Youtube videos afterward.

$91.00 & $25.00 Walmart Giftcard
I got $91.00 total from different family members which really means a lot, especially with the economy the way it is. Also, another kid from my group bought me a $25.00 Wal-Mart Giftcard! Really!? I mean wow! The guy is only like 15. What a kid.

The people in my life are awesome and I hope I didn't sound too materialistic in this post. I have so much stuff that I don't need and I really felt like I shouldn't really ask for anything this year since I have everything I already need and more. The fact that people still got me stuff and the fact that it was all AWESOME stuff is just mind blowing. I have so much love and respect for the people in my life and I've been blessed with great family and friends. That goes for you too Destructoid, you guys are good people and I've loved being part of this community for the last 6 months!
