Kid Gamers

Hi, before reading this post please note this is my first post. It is also not really news related.

I want to tell everyone about a group of gamers that are mis represented. That group is younger gamers. I am 13 years old and freaking love video games. That is how I spend most of my time doing, Playing games. I think everyone should know that not all of us are half brained Halo fanatics. Many of us are but there are those who are not.
Personally I think Halo pales in comparison to games like Team fortress 2. Those games are amazing.

So to start off TF2 is an M rated game, so is Halo. I own them both. I don't trick my parents into buying them for me, I Tell them what is in these games and they decide weather or not the game is appropriate or not for me. I show them the ESRB rating and the judge based on that. I'm sure if I asked for GTA I'd be told no before I could finish saying it.

Now about certain laws banning kids from buying mature games. The average gamer is 33, right? Game developers know this and most AAA titles ( sorry can't spell tripple) take that in for account. Quiet frankly the some of best games are rated M.

Microsoft is a great example of a company that doesn't get it. They have now way for me, on Xbox live, to download M rated game demos on a child account. I have tried changing every setting but nothing changes.

Finally I just want to put to bed the fact that old games are not appriciated by the youth. I have *ahem* NOT downloaded some NOT ROMs from the NOT internet and love Megaman 2 and Crono trigger. So please remember that not all kids who play games are annoying idiots on Xbox live.

Love the Dtoid podcasts keep on doing great work guys.
