Yesterday morning I strolled into my folks' town local
Target - the very past weekend I wondered into many a Targets, Walmarts and even a Best Buy to no avail. All was empty. Yesterday morning... when I peered into the Wii section, I saw
glory.
20 Wii consoles? Must have been... this was it. I had already purchased a Wii remote to play at my friends places... this time I went for gold, I got the console, an extra nunchuck (which is as of yet to be of ANY use other than a one on one match on
Wii Sports Boxing... and also
Mario Party 8.
I broke its cherry at a friend's place (after all, I was about 2 hours from home, his 60 inch Sony HDTV (which usually boasts XBOX 360 goodness) switched sides for a total of 2.5 hours.
It was magnificent. My new baby performed just as well as my other past experiences, I am the proud owner of a Nintendo Wii.
Much later that night, my live-in-girlfriend (that sounds pimptastic, which explains the choice of words) and I got home and hooked it up for good at my place.
16x9, Dolby Surround, 2 remotes, the works. We made a couple Miis for good measure and then slapped on some Wii Sports to get in the mood. We also drank a few several beers while this was going on.
Then we deemed it
Mario party 8 time... and all the while I'm thinking: sweet, here's a girl who is too afraid to pick up a gamecube controller, competing FTW. She, of course, didn't win. But that's neither here nor there.
Point is...
Wii rocks... and if you hate it, then you haven't played it with more than... just you. Anybody exposed to this bad boy in groups larger than 1, LOVES it.
I recommend you getting one, cause it's awesome, and so am I.
RECENTLY PURCHASED: Component AV cable, Nyko Charger Station.

Sweeeeet.
I know the titles list is short, but let me know, TOP 5 Wii games ever (out, coming, distant future), any thoughts?

Wii Play (just to get the extra controller and pool)
??? No fifth choice. Haven't played anything else
Bridging gender gaps since 2006.
Wii Sports will get boring (unless you like to drink).
All games on it actually will get boring (unless you like to drink).
Give it time, you'll get tired of the ports.
