Neckbeard open sourced game.

http://wesnoth.org/

"The Battle for Wesnoth is a turn-based strategy game played on a hex map, with single-player campaigns as well as multi-player matches. A central philosophy in the design of the game is the KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid); for a new idea to be accepted, it should not complicate gameplay.

Each unit has its own strengths and weaknesses. A unit's defense is based solely on the type of terrain it stands on, making terrain and placement of units very important. Different types of attacks (melee and ranged), weapon types (pierce, blade, impact, arcane, cold, and fire), and a day-night cycle that alternately favors lawful and chaotic units, add to the strategy. Throughout the campaigns, units can advance to higher level counterparts and become more powerful. Part of the fun is developing a personalized army of advanced units as a campaign progresses."

If you like games like Advanced Wars, Fire Emblem, Vanguard Bandits or Heroes of Might and Magic you will enjoy this free game.
I play it windowed and other stuff while I am fighting with someone online, hinders no progress in my online duties or personal shit.

*Changed the title because of fear of repost spam, this is a blog about me basically throwing cheer around like a 5 year old with excitement at the inclusion of more content from the mother series, not a repost of confirmed characters*

Thanks to the amount of leakage that has gone on through the day and the last 2 weeks, I'm super super SUPER excited for Super Smash Brothers Brawl and will definitely purchase the Wii console upon its PAL release. But why exactly do I want to purchase SSSB?, well unlike the other games in the SSB series it features so much, too much of my favorite Nintendo series, Mother/Earthbound.

It all started with Lucas, for those who followed the cascade when we read this upon Sakurai's publishing of the Lucas article showing off his move list:

"There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar. They are from the same family of PK users."

Do you remember,
The rage?
The despair?
The upset?

And then, it came, the trailer that demoed features of the game. The stickers?, and who can use them?... who was next to Lucas!? NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS NESS

It was amazing that he was confirmed!, and today's leak they shown off cutscenes of Ness in the actual game!

But...who else?
What followed the final confirmation of Ness?, heres a clue!
He is greedy and rides a giant spider mech.

PORKY/POKEY MOTHERFUCKERS!

Holy fucking shit!, a boss battle with one of the best characters in Nintendo history!

But that isn't all!, we've got stickers of course related to the series such as Kumatora and Claus and a Jeff assist trophy (Credits to SWPM's blog) and possible more things to unlock!, I hope for a Giygas/Giegue/Gigu boss battle SO much!, in either form!

Hopefully the inclusion of so much items related to the Mother universe will finally give attention to the stubborn Nintendo that Mother will do well over the States if they gave it a chance. (let alone Europe, but hey I'm glad if I ever get my hands on more official English language material.) The same goes to Fire Emblem too.

Many of you hopefully know of the video game Deus Ex, I know a lot of you hail it to be a masterpiece but I don't know if as many of you are aware of its small but dedicated active modification teams. So I decided to educate you of the finished (and a special canceled individual) projects and the other wonderful ideas in development.

-

Finished projects-
Steve Tack's ZODIAC
ZODIAC is set in between the times after Hong Kong and the finale of the original game, in the footsteps of Paul Denton, older brother of JC Denton. This fan expansion is split up in 3 parts and set across 6 immense missions.

- Discover why the President is risking a nuclear confrontation.
- Break into CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia to uncover some of the world's best kept secrets.
- Solve the mystery of dozens of missing UNATCO troops.
- Use all-new weapons and meet new characters.
- Travel to new locations including: CIA Headquarters, Buenos Aires, Page Biotech, Holloman Air Force Base and more!

This is my favorite Deus Ex modification at the time because it mimics the feel and the goal of the original titan itself, this one at least you HAVE to see for yourself.

Burden of 80 Proof
80 Proof is a original modification I'm sure the users here will love, a tounge in cheek slapstick story about some guy called Peter Kent who has to try and leave work early and gather shopping and invites for a rushed party. Burden of 80 Proof isn't anything like the original game of Deus Ex and the only thing you'd find the same is the fiction FPS video game beta you'd play, the RPG elements and the engine.

- All new, entirely original script (over 13,000 words)
- 18 new characters, 6 new levels, new sounds, models, textures and more, plus clever re-use of existing Deus Ex stuff (or "assets")
- A non-dark-and-dystopian vision of the future
- Awesome, old-schooly music brings luscious memories of past gaming goodness back into the now
- Robots
- Multiple solutions to problems and a world responsive to your choices, in the true spirit of Deus Ex

Hotel Carone
Like ZODIAC, this is a intended fan expansion but is intended to take place straight after after Mission 3 of the original game and assumes you haven't killed Lebedev in the 747 and replaces every scenario until the finale of the mod when you reach Hong Kong where you can continue your game as normal. It is worth the download.

- Alternative storyline after Mission 3 of the original game
- Original maps based around the events of the capture of Hotel Carone

The Cassandra Project
Rest in piece, this was easily going to be one of the best original modifications but alas, it was canceled. Thankfully the team behind Cassandra released one of the episodes of gameplay before disbanding the project. You take the role of Anna, a Russian agent and product of the mysterious Cassandra Project.

Just try it, too much that could of been so great to be seen.

Projects in development-
The Nameless Mod
A mod that developed from the idea of the PlanetDeusEx board members in one level to a entire full length modification. I cannot wait for it and I suggest reading about it, you'll be surprised if you haven't heard of it.

2027
A Russian developed prequel to the series, I am familiar with the creator and people working on it and it is looking great. Although sad to say I don't know much about it other than being a prequel.

-

So there you have it, if you're a fan of the series or enjoyed any of the games, I suggest try out or look forward to these mods.

...completely destroying any game with violence, he could actually prove a point about minors playing them.

Think about games you grew up with, can you compare the likes of Contra, Streets of Rage and Worms with the types of Condemned, Silent Hill and Grand Theft Auto?, there is a fact you need to understand that kids are playing these games.
In this argument he is correct, we're getting very sloppy with censorship rules for violent titles and exposing kids to too much explicit language and violence these days. Too many sales are also getting away with it which I find very cruel because of the obvious purchases from game or multimedia store clerks selling them to children or parent/relative present while in risk of a huge fine if caught out. (Although thankfully I have a friend who actually asks for ID on purchase if she doubts it)

Hearing and witnessing 8 year olds on Xbox Live Marvel Ultimate Alliance with racial slurs talking about GTA: SA really brought me down and I just wanted to address the issue.
