Infinity Ward announced today that starting Friday the company would be unlocking additional content for the Call of Duty 4 beta currently available to select Xbox 360 owners.



"Friday morning at 10 am PDT (1 pm EST), we're going to be increasing the Rank level cap to Level 16," the company said in a statement.

The beta upgrade effectively unlocks additional weapons, clan tags, new play modes or "perks" as they're called, and new challenges with more on the way according to the developer.

"This is the first of several level increases we're going to do throughout the beta."

The Call of Duty 4 beta was first made available on Xbox Live in August. Due to heightened demand, beta signups were dissipated in fewer than seven minutes even bringing down Infinity Ward's website as a result.

The complete game launches November 5 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
