But III and Vice City are difficult for me to play after San Andreas. SA introduced so many improvements over the earlier games, such as swimming, climbing, moving while crouched, gunplay that doesn't feel shoehorned in, and cars that don't feel like they weigh 100 pounds and have wheels made of soap.
I would love to see III and Vice City recreated atop the San Andreas engine. SA fixed a ton of the frustrations that kept the earlier games firmly in "good" and not "great" territory, and exploring Liberty City and Vice City without having to wrestle enjoyment from the game would be wonderful.

I agree with you, but I don't think they need to remake them. San Andreas was the only one I actually beat cause there was so much to do, III and VC I got to the last island, but the formula grew thin..San Andreas added so much to the series.

it makes me really excited for GTA IV, its gonna be somethin amazing, methinks.

I really like chicken on my pizza. I wish that more companies would make chicken a topping on their pizzas, but I don't like how sometimes there'll be onions or buffalo sauce on some companies' chicken pizzas.

After eating Pizza Hut's chicken pizza I wish that they'd make that pizza frozen so I could store it and eat it whenever I want instead of having to order it and go to get it from my house to their place because they won't deliver.

Hey, maybe I should make this a blog!

@Reaprar

No.

Liberty City/Vice City Stories are their own games. What would you expect them to do for the portable market? While the settings are the same, they are inferior in graphics, features and story to their predecessors (well, they might be superior to GTA III) and were only ported to PS2 to make a few extra bucks from people who chose not to invest in a PSP.

That said, hygraed, I agree that it's difficult to go back to these games after having played San Andreas. Remakes are not necessary, though. These stories have been told and I'd rather see the resources put towards new titles in the series.

I recall a PC mod that remade GTA III with the Vice City engine. I'd support some enterprising fan to do the same for both those games using the SA engine.

Correct me if im wrong here but all the PS2/XBOX/PC GTA's of last gen (3, VC, SA) where all built on the same engine, albeit tweaks in each iteration. My friend works for Rockstar North(just down the road from me) and thats what he told me.

I think every GTA after III was boring. SA might have had nice features, but III had a much better story telling platform, and a better experience overall, IMO
