Mega Man 5 a lost Mega Man Game? Uranus Man

Mega Man 5 for the Gameboy was a great portable Mega Man game. It was slow and blurry like the other Mega Man games but had a totally original story weapons and bosses. The only meg man game to feature level bosses without "Man" following their names. Instead you fight the robot masters for each planet in our solar system. This game has a few cool items like the grab hand quarter energy tanks and p chips to be exchanged for items in Dr Lights shop. This is the first mega man game with the ability to buy items.

With the retro craze in full swing with the release of Mega Man 9 it seems like a shame this game is forgotten. It's nice to play through the Mega Man games on various collections but this should be included in your nostalgic trip.

For a GB game it was great it had Gameboy Color and Super Gameboy features. Altough this game seems weak compared to other mega man titles It would still be nice to see this game in a remake with faster game play and more open levels.

Looks decent, although I just checked it up and this ones Mega Man V because Mega Man 5 is the one on the NES.

You say the Gameboy game is Mega Man V but if that were true then tell me...

What do you make of this?

This picture is from the title screen of mega Man 5 for ness although it clearly says V...

Yeah, it's confusing. Mega Man nerds like myself tend to call Mega Man V on the NES Mega Man 5, and Mega Man V on the GB Mega Man V.

I don't know why we do that.

Also, for my money, the best "lost" Mega Man game is Mega Man Battle Network Transmission on the Gamecube. The level design may be a little weak at times, but it's got something like 16 boss fights, making it like 2 regular Mega Man games in one. Mor importantly, it's the only game to feature Mega Man, Bass, and Zero.

Like I said, I'm a Mega Man nerd.

Check it out sometime and tell me what you think.

I loved the GB/C Mega Man games, but I agree with Mr. Holmes. MMBNT is real good.

@Holmes:

Isn't Zero the main baddie in that one though? But yeah. That's pretty kick ass that it has Mega, Proto, Bass and Zero.

Man. I never finished that game. I think I need to get it.

@Jonathan Holmes:

I just checked out a preview for Mega Man Battle Network Transmission on Gametrailers. I had no idea it was a side scrolling Mega Man game. I'll try to get this one and play it through.

@ Frozenbab and Hippie- Yeah, the Zero virus is the main bad guy in for most of MMBNT. He look friggin' awesome; gigantic with a bad ass face mask.

Warning, the game is NOT fun at first, as Mega Man is just way underpowered, but after the second level (which I think was Needle Man), it gets a lot more fun.

Like the Battle Network games, you don't get defeated boss powers, but you can summon them if you beat them the right way. Bringing out Proto Man, Zero, then Bass in a gigantic kick-ass combo is something every Mega Man fan should experience.
