No seriously, post something real, I can't handle these fake non-blogs anymore.
1) Why do you think that Xbox 360 and Wii sales are going to decline anytime soon?
2) What is with hatin on the Burger King bitch?
I'll be honest. I don't agree with you. The Wii sales are starting to trail off a bit, but I still can't find one around town anywhere. I saw some a few weeks ago, but when I went back they were gone. People still want Wii's and there are some really quality games out there for it. It has outsold the 360 at this point and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future IMO.
The 360 will continue to sell well, especially this winter shopping season because, despite hardware problems (which are supposedly fixed), they have a large list of great games to play and an excellent online system. The 360 is going no where.
The PS3 is getting there. The 400$ price is going to appeal to a lot more people than the 5-600$ price that they had. There are quite a few games to play for the system. Sony won't let the PS3 fail. Worst case scenario I see the PS3 ending up in 3rd place overall with mostly 1st party titles keeping the system afloat (a al Gamecube). Best case scenario I see the PS3 in second place over all and Blu-Ray the dominant HD format.
This idea that consumers that bought PS2's, buying PS3's because of brand loyalty is crap as far as what my experiences tell me. The bulk of those PS2's were sold at a low price. Something the Wii currently occupies. The PS3 will not pick up those people for a few years at least. This leaves the Wii and 360 arcade to pick up those folks.
That's my opinion.
PS2 fanbase is still too strong to dent the PS3 base.
Also, not including PS2 support in your new console is a massive failure of an idea.
MS is rockin' it with a solid online community, good games, and HD.
Here's where your arguement falls apart in my eyes. Completely and without arguement or follow up.
Sony doesn't take the PS3 seriously. At all. It's some shifty sands platform for them.
First it's a game system.
Then it's a BluRay player
Now it's a media server.
And it's a game system again.
OH! This xmas it's a cheap BluRay player.
It's backwards compatible.
Now it's not.
FUCKING FINALIZE THE DAMN THING. There's 1 Wii on the shelf folks.
There's 4 360's but I can tell what they are by looking at the box.
no HDD, small HDD, big HDD/black console, Halo console.
Easy enough.
PS3 we have so many subtle changes, only people who read boxes and know where to navigate the XMB know where to look.
20GB, 60GB, 40GB, 80GB, Wifi/no wifi, card reader/no card reader...
Back compat, no back compat, etc...
Okay, and my number one issue...
SONY CANT FUCKING FIX SHIT!
I've got a 1080i TV. I can upscale my 720p games on my 360 to 1080i. Looks great, plays great.
The PS3 though, cannot for the life of it, figure out how to upscale a 720p image to 1080i, so it downrezzes everything at 720p to 480p. I call bullshit on this. If MS' "inferior" console can do this, why can't the PS3?
It's the reason why I don't buy games on the PS3. If there's no 1080i support for a game, I'm wasting my time buying it, and wasting even more time playing it on the PS3.
It should just work. JUST WORK DAMMIT!
Don't gimme spec bullshit. Support your goddamn games!
Should have not included Blu-Ray, and put in a better graphics chip and scaler, and lowered the initial price a few hundred.
How could you hate on the Burger King? Its so tasty
OMG never thought i'd see that here!!! you're awesome!!! even though you're a total fail!
I like the extra "t" he put in there... makes it sound HARDCORE!
You my friend, are living proof of that. Fanboys crack me up.
'gone. no more microsoft robots for me, this place sucks, fuck blogs. fuck this media. fuck you all. rott in hell.'
Thats the best news I have received all day.
And neither should you. Besides if you hate the site than dont fucking come here.
Regardless, The King is right... Bickering about who has the better console is worthless. The biggest, baddest hardware doesn't always "win."
@ king3vbo
I thought I was the king around here.
@ hexfix himself:
All I hear is
Wow, that didn't take much. XD
I have a 360 and Wii, and I love them. My Wii isn't really getting much play time lately, but that'll probably change when Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out. My 360 is on almost constantly and I love it.
As of right now, I have no interest in the PS3. The PS2 is doing just fine and there are very few PS3 games that interest me that I can't get for my 360. My girlfriend agreed to go half and half on a PS3 someday (she wants to play Folklore, I want to play MGS4), so maybe I'll own one one day.
Maybe the PS3 would do a bit better if Sony didn't make so many horrible decisions. Dvddesign gave some good examples of that with their constant console revisions and going back and forth between "game system" and "blu-ray player".
No one gives a fuck about hardware as long as you have good games to play. Quit the, "mine's better than yours!" crap, hexfix. I've been playing around with you for a while, but now it's getting retarded.
Your tinfoil hat conspiracy theories are retarded and you're retarded. You calling someone else a moron is like watching a fat kid critiquing other people's weight.
And I will shamefully plug my "Hexfix Quotes" blog again.
Here's a far out idea. Maybe, the PS2 sold because it was a good console: simple to develop for, an open market in the wake of the Dreamcast being unpopular, and a healthy range of exclusive titles. It also ticked many of the other incentive boxes such as pushing technology, being the first of the generation, somewhat strong advertising and was able to appeal to the whole family.
This generation, Microsoft have made a console that has a great range of development tools, making it easy to develop for, they had no competition at the time of their release except the PS2 (which would have been about 5 - 6 years old back then), and over the first year, they secured a handful of great exclusives. They also have higher average scores than the other consoles. As well as have a few other areas covered such as a popular online service, a lovely back catalogue of previous generation games and a few other details.
Nintedo haven't had very strong games this gen, but at the low price point and their track record with the DS, people were more willing to take the plunge. They also technically had no direct competition as no-one else was doing what they were. They also had a great catalogue of exclusives and a whole load of niche games so that they could move more units.
So let's recap. Maybe, just maybe, all the things that made the PS2 popular last generation, are the things that have made these two consoles popular this generation. The Wii is more of an exception to the rule than the 360, but it follows common princples such as the niche and party games and the catalogue of exclusives.
The PlayStation brand isn't God's great gift to humanity for all it's glorious deeds that it performed for it's great overlord, and it doesn't carry some divine or dark power that makes everything assossiated perfect.
Now, I'm not saying that the PS3 is bad, I never have. I scoff at the idea of buying one, but that's not because it's bad. In fact, i tend to take the other point of view, more often than not, that sony have actually made a decent console which they just fucked up with a few things like bad advertising and the high price... but that's not the point.
My point is that instead of concocting this wild, innane fantasy theory of yours, why don't you just accept the simplest, most logical explaination? The Xbox and Wii are selling because for one reason or another, they're good consoles, for much the same reasons that the PS2 was a good console.
Is that such a difficult theory to accept?
wow.
microsoft robots indeed.
(For the record I own a PS3 and no other current-gen console, so don't pull the xbot card on me)
