I've had some difficulty since Christmas deciding what to spend all the gift cards and cash on, and I'm sure some of you with Wii's are having the same problem.

I walked into Gamestop last night, and perused for about an hour before finally picking up 4 used games and my first Wii points card. I've had my Wii for over a year, and I have never purchased a points card until last night.

Anyways, I grabbed SSX Blur, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, Geometry Wars Galaxies, and Mercury Metldown Revolution. Each one was less than 20 bucks, and I could find no full price games I really wanted. I was definitely tempted by Super Paper Mario but $45 for a used copy seemed a little much.

I guess the real question is what should I purchase with the points card?

I'm leaning towards Golden Axe and Super Mario World. I suppose I'll sit on the points for a week before I actually decide on picking something up. I'd like to buy Eternal Champions, but I read a review which said the controls were not very responsive on the Wii.

Anyone seen this game yet, or played it?

I have a slight obsession for old school 2d shooters. Especially if they are amazingly deep like Ikaruga. I'm hoping SoldnerX will be.

That you really really enjoy?

I just got down to 0 stars left in Super Mario Galaxy, and I kinda don't want to finish it. It's not the game's fault really; I'm just kinda sad its almost over.

Oh well, there is always the replay value I suppose.

I have not visited the competition in months.

I was a paid subscriber for 5 years, and that equates to about 200$ which were wasted now when I think about it. Those 200$ could have bought several cases of beer or bottles of halfway acceptable Absinthe.

Normally, I don't rant about game sites. I don't even discuss games, nor do I blog. It had not occurred to me until earlier this year with a few very pitiful reviews of some huge Nintendo releases that perhaps Cashwhore had become pitifully slanted towards its advertisers or certain major console manufacturers.

In fact, I had not even bothered to really look for another game/review website to visit. However, several articles lead me here today. I had a William Gibson moment of inverse clarity tracing my way through other peoples Google'ing work to find myself at a more clear perspective on the outwardly strange. If Gerst WAS fired over Kane & Lynch then God save Gerst for doing the right thing.

I'm currently playing SMB Galaxy, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and I just picked up Trigger Heart Excelica for my Dreamcast.

1 Star left in SMBG and I have barely played RE:TUC but it seems slightly promising.

Noticed the Virtual Console releases for this week included Eternal Champions which brings back all sorts of High School memories. Mostly sitting on Patrick's floor passing a half empty bottle of vodka between rounds before we went whoring for the evening. Yeah, I'm just gonna have to pick that one up.
