Oh and basically what people are saying is add more content to your blogs. Since this is your introduction post you should talk a bit about yourself and just explain basically why you are a gamer and what types of game you like. Throwing up a pic also helps to add a bit of colour to your post.
Of course, I'm no expert since I still haven't done my whole intro post shabang :P

Also, it doesn't matter if ryu is a regular or not. It was your off the wall, and totally out of line response that I see as very inappropriate.
The internet is not here to attack you. Yes, you will get criticized for certain things, but if you learn to take it the correct way, everyone wins. No more outbursts like that please, it just doesn't help you at all.

Did you even read Ryu89's comment? It was an offer of advice, not an excuse for you to fly off the handle.
Seriously though, that intro post wouldn't cut it in the Meet and Greet section of the forum. Just add some more about yourself, fluff it up a bit.
Also, fine ryu wasn't being an elitist asshole, but I didn't know dtoid had this whole "mandatory blog length" crap or whatever. I thought that one could just post whatever the hell one feels like in there blog. and no need for insults either, I don't even know what a fuckstick is.
nukkajdav- I see that guide now, sorry I missed it before. I did go to the 'newbie' thread and it was just an intro thing there. In response to ryu, I thought he/she was being 'off the wall' initially. to me, it was insulting. I thought this blog was harmless, hell I didn't even expect any comments at all.
Its understandable, just no more hostility and everything is gonna be super duper.
Anyway, sorry for the notsogreat introduction to the dtoid community. Trust me, you'll get past this, just be active, contribute, etc. and everything will be great for you.
I was also a lurker here, for about two years from 16 years of age to 18, and ever since I joined I've been slowly integrating myself into the community and I feel right at home here. Destructoid is fucking amazing for its community, no other video game blog is like this one.
God I kinda had a heartfelt moment there...*embarassment*

Just remember when posting a blog that its pushing someone else off the front page, that's why we get so annoyed when blogs with no real content or worth pop up like this one.
When it comes to asking questions about how to do something like setting an avatar, either ask in the forums, add the question to a more complete blog post or send a PM to an existing member. We're mostly friendly here and are more than willing to help out the newbies who aren't looking for a flamewar.
