The Internet Hates Diablo III

I'm sure you've all heard of the complaints of disgruntled Diablo fans everywhere when they saw the art direction of Diablo 3. They've gone as far as comparing it to WoW and even creating an online petition against it (which currently has over 33,500 signatures.) In response to these obvious cries of pain, Something Awful has written an article about it aptly named "The Internet Hates Diablo III". As usual, it's hilarious. Check it out.

Looks a little different, eh? I think if Blizzard truly feels that they have soiled the franchise with D3's style then they will change it. That said, I think what they choose will be great. I have nothing against the use of color in video games, and when people complain because the landscapes are too beautiful, there is something wrong with those people.

The internet is stupid. First everybody wants a new Diablo and now they don't want one anymore, because they don't like the graphics.
I think Blizzard is smart enough not to care about those crazy people too much.

ParaParaKing: It's like during the time that they've been waiting for D3 they've conceived a 'perfect sequel' and when it wasn't identical to that, Blizzard had failed them.

I really like the new cartoonish artistic stlye in Diablo 3. But I can kinda agree a bit with what those people say about the colour though. It may not be as drastic as if Mario went from bright and colourful to realistic and brownish. But still, its kinda weird.
But I'm not gonna complain, it will definetly not ruin the game for me. Besides, Blizzard has only showed a fraction of the game.

Of course all of the people who are bitching will be the first in line to buy the game. Why? ... because they are probably the most passionate fans for the game. True they are possibly a little to passionate, but they are what they are. Let them bitch.

Have you ever seen the first screens of warcraft 3 released on the pc gamer magazine? It looked like WoW, really it did, it was sort of a third person RTS thing, strange, it didnt convince me at the time.
The feedback was not good so they changed everything to make Warcraft 3 as we know is an RTS. Years later the release WoW.

So yeah, Blizzard is known to polish things and even re-make them.

I'll be purchasing the game no matter what it looks like, but who wouldn't want a more caliginous or wicked Diablo 3. I understand that the its extremely early to be judging graphics etc, so I'm going to wait patiently for more info.

I'll bet those people that hate the color also comment/complain about all the gray or brown colors in a lot of the current gen games. There is just no pleasing the internet retards.

Personally I don't care what direction Blizzard takes this, I'll be one of the people picking it up day one, even if I have to upgrade my rig to do it. And I agree with Shin Oni those rtards that actually signed the petition will all buy it day one guaranteed no matter what it looks like.

FUCK the internet. I can't believe people this day and age are complaining about color in a video game. THANK YOU BLIZZARD, thank you for not going the route of Gears of Brown and Metal Gear Brown 4. You are one of the few developers (outside of Wii development) that have realized that BROWN does NOT equal good graphics.

RPGs are ok too (especially if they're free). I'm too dumb to figure out RTS games. Racing/Sports games are meh, unless something creative is done with them to make them awesome. If I wanted to play soccer, I would just go outside and do it. If I'm gonna game, I'm gonna blow people's heads off and cleanse the world of demons (things I can't/would never do in real life). Consoles I Own (in no particular order): Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox, Wii, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, mah shweet PC Oh and I'm part Japanese. My friends seem to think that's awesome so maybe if you guys read this you'll think I'm awesome too. Seems like solid logic to me.
