I dont know why i ever trusted microsoft to make a half decent console. i guess i thought "well software is pretty complicated affair, but sticking the right components in a box properly, well not even microsoft can mess that up". But they did, they showed that they can surpass expectations time and time again, we thought they'd peaked with vista, creating the ultimate in 'expensive yet broken' products, but they had an ace up their sleeve. Or should i say, under our TVs? Sitting there, like tiny time bombs of wasted time and energy, the xboxes bided/bode/bid their time. The two in my house must have conspired to break with such beautiful synchonicity. First my elite, my disbelief that the "better version" broke, and my annoyance, and then i finally get to send it away, and the pro console breaks too! So there's no xbox now. none. I was considering selling my xbox, but then i thought, well if someone else buys it then they're gonna be giving microsoft money through games sales. But i dont want to give microsoft any more money. i want them to stop, to die, i want them to learn their lesson. i've sure as hell learned mine.
i think im gonna get a ps3.

Pray for me.
@Ron: I'm pretty sure there's no amount of praying that will save you from your fate. However, good luck.
Seriously though that sucks... I hate hearing stories like this because I myself just won a 360 from dtoid and I would hate for this thing to break as soon as I get it.
If you want something you know will always turn on and play fine... get a PS3.
I always say... as long as you have a PS3 its ok to own a 360, at least you would have something to keep playing when the other has to be sent it for repair.
In any event.. I hope your mess of consoles gets cleaned up.
The hardware issue is the main reason I chose a PS3, and I'm damn glad I chose it, it's on A LOT. The chances are that if it was a 360, it would've easily died by now.
I'm also a little scared about my PS3; it's a 60gig, fully backwards compatible one. The dude from the Escapist had to send in his 60gig for repair, and had to wait awhile to get his original console back.
Yet my original NES, Genesis, and Neo-Geo CD still work after all this time. Seems like present-day consoles are pure shit.
