When I first saw Sony's new PSN game
Fat Princess at their press conference, I knew that there would be a few internets that would get pretty angry about it. There were a few internets that got mad, and, of course, they were
overweight feminist gamers looking to pick a fight. Now, the entire Dtoid audience probably knows the story already, so I'll spare the details.
So, why are they so mad about this game? Why not get mad about other fat icons in geek media. For example, Jabba the Hut. What about the Penguin? Why aren't the
overweight feminist gamers sending hate mail to Rockstar, the guys who brought us fat prostitutes in GTA? All right, maybe those weren't great examples, but these women need to take a chill pill. On the other hand, they could just go on posting their smartass, elitist, "I don't care about what anybody thinks about me" blogs and keep the world laughing.
I'm not sure if they're still doing recaps right now, but if they are, this is going in the fail section. Oops.
I dunno man. The "Why-don't-they-get-mad-about-X" thing. That's kinda like seeing someone's opinion on the iraq war and saying, "well, why aren't they complaining about vietnam"
Current news is currnet, ya know?
It's not a controversy, it's just a fat girl on a blog complaining about something. Let's not make her a star please.
What Rockvillian said, pretty much, also.
Its like if one of did a c-blog here about peanut butter and thousands of peanut butter enthusiasts got all up in our comments section. just one man's opinion about peanut butter!
People are complaining about that game?
That's hilarious.
Well you just can't win.
Hot girls in games: feminists complain
Fat girls in games: femisists complain
It's not a controversy, it's just a fat girl on a blog complaining about something. Let's not make her a star please.
its a guy for fudges sake
The comments there are hilarious.
"It's not a controversy, it's just a fat girl on a blog complaining about something. Let's not make her a star please."
This is what everybody should reply with at all times when this situation presents itself. Also, I'm buying this game.
"She is extremely immature referring to everyone who opposes her feelings as fanboys and unintelligent. "
Well . . . I'm not 100% sure *everyone* rolled up on her blog and posted well thought out counterpoints. This is the internet after all.
But, shakesville erased all the comments and locked it down. who's to say what's what.
meh.
women = nature's punching bags
I sorta saw people complaining being imminent. But I still took forward to this game.
As a fat girl gamer, I am just glad I have someone to cosplay as now. :)
this a fad right now to be offended. these people aren't singled out when offended but choose to be. they can just shut up and mind there own business., they don't get called out by their name and by just hearing alone the title to something that has nothing to due with them they freak out thinking they'll be heard. fat princess, are there any fucking princesses out there, let alone fat ones?(every dad calls his daughter princess but i don't see no goddam crown) if they called it fat chick then i might be able to understand but these people aren't princesses and will never be but they're fat so that means they're offended. fuck these absurd fat people.
By complaining about this game, they have unwillingly shown the whole world their insecurities about being fat. They should stop eating everything and go exercise instead of bitching about everything that portrays fat people. They want to live in some dream world where fat people aren't alienated for being disgusting blobs. Guess what? Not happening. Now go jog or something.
