Ya, I know, I know, this game is old. Like last generation old. But I just started playing it now, because my friend lent it to me.
I am in the middle of the
Beauty and the Beast section of the game, so I am not very far, quite yet, but so far, the game is
amazing. I really like the battle system. The combat feels very "hack and slashy", while battling in real time, running around the battle field pressing "X" to attack, you have to use the d-pad to select different options like items and magic from an on screen menu. The system feels really different than most action RPG's that I have played (Tales of 'Vesp), in which you have to pause the combat to do menu stuff.
The beginning of the game kind of pissed me off because you play through this giant 2-4 hour intro story, that doesn't even include any of the games main characters. You play as some
Nobody character, Roxas, who is definitely less likable than Sora. You don't even get to leave the first area (Twilight Town) until after this whole shindig is over and done with.
So far the game is really really great, and if you haven't played it yet, go out and play it
now. I just can't believe that Square Enix could actually pull off putting
Disney characters in a serious RPG, and keeping the emotional calibre of some of their other games.
BUY IT!!
Uhhhhh, SPOILARS. I beat the game, but to those who haven't might appriciate some spoiler tags
My save file was corrupted sixty hours in at the save point before the final boss, so I never beat it though :(
For me it was kind of the opposite. I didn't really get into Kingdom Hearts 1 at all. I just found the stages kind of confusing beucause they weren't really all that obvious in where to go.
Why would you say something like that, makes it sound like D-Toid isn't a place where Nintendo is liked...
...Is it?
