About Me
Hey. I graduated from a crappy Art school that taught me nothing. I work at a Web place and basically update peoples websites from the early 90's.
I've been gaming since sine the Atari 2600. Unfortunetly, my family was not blessed with the best financial situation so over the years I could only get one console per generation. Fate dealt me a NES, Sega Genesis, N64, GC & PS2, now all three. Plus all the Nintendo handhelds to date.
I sadly never owned a SNES but played it a lot at a friends growing up.

I like action/adventure games for the most part. FPS's tend to get played alot also. Every so often a good RPG sucks me in.
I used to consider my self good a rhythm games (Freq & Amplitude FTW) but I don't play as much as I used to. I'm sure every 10 year old kid out there can 100% expert blindfolded these days.

I just unwillingly put 60 hours into Fallout and I'm not done yet.
I just started Lost Odyssey and I fear for my free time.

I'm tired I'll write more later.

E3: Golden Sun DS!
falinter | 12:38 PM on 06.02.2009 4 comments

E3 has officially gotten me excited for something for the first time in years. (FACT: I don't make cblogs unlesss I'm really excited about something. Also, because I suck at writing cblogs)
Honestly, I've wanted this game for so long I gave up on wishing it would be announced at any of these conferences anymore. Then seeing that post for Golden Sun show up on the Dtoid front page it reminded me of why we should look forward to events like E3. To see that one game that you almost gave up hope on, or that one game that makes the next few months move so incredibly slow due to anticipation. Well, that last part may not be fun, but you get my point.

Anyway, back to Golden Sun. Golden Sun to me was a near perfect RPG. This comes from a guy who doesn't really like many RPGs. Alot of the time I give up on RPGs part of the way through, either due to grinding or just horrible story. Golden Sun never did that for me. The grinding, the powers, the dijinn, the summons, the characters, the story, the villains everything just came together to make such an engrossing experience that I just couldn't put down.

The first Golden Sun, I turned it on and got through 60% of the game in one sitting. It grabbed me from the get-go and never let up. Then Golden Sun: The Lost Age took that amazing feeling the first game gives and multiplied it.
Sure the story is slightly cliche. Young people from a small village, village destroyed, young people go on quest to defeat evil that destroyed village, gain magical powers, etc. But The Golden Sun story gives that cliche so much life that it feels like your apart of whats going on and not just some proxy for a boy with a mission. The game makes you actually give a shit about Garret and Jenna and eventually her brother Felix and all the other characters - even the villains! You actually feel bad for some of the bad guys as you defeat them knowing that some of them actually may be doing the right thing in trying to stop you. There's just so much depth in the Golden Sun universe.

Which is why I am glad that Nintendo is finally letting us go back to Weyward and see where the story of Isaac and his friends leads next.

Golden Sun was the first RPG I ever played. It got me wanting all the Final Fantasy's, and was pretty much responsible for the time I decided to buy more than just Nintendo consoles.

I want this, bad. I loved the two part story. I loved the fact you had a playable Jenna in the first one for a few seconds, before only really discovering her character in the second game. And I loved the link up to get the extra Djinn.

I'm hoping some of the strongest story conventions in the originals can be topped for the DS game. Some of that stuff was fantastic back then..

I totally freaked out on the moment. Like Discarded, Golden Sun was my first RPG that got me into playing other rpgs.

Wouldn't it be awesome to link your game from Lost Age to the DS?

Story wise,
// SPOILER WARNING
I want Alex back. XD I want to see what Babi's followers will do to Felix once they find him. I want to see if Lemuria's assholes (was it the senate people?) will do something now that we released the lighthouses.

Give me access to ALL towns, I'll be more than happy.

No amount of words can describe how happy I am to see this series getting a third game. I'm eagerly awaiting new news from post E3. I already have myself a copy on reserve at my Gamestop, trying not to count the days hehe.
