Job posting at nintendo calls for usb coder/tester.

Found on Gonintendo.com A recent Job posting on Nintendo.com is asking for someone to code/plan/test wii's usb devices. The problem is the wii does not have any official usb devices out or even announced by the big N. This could be a infinite number of possible add-ons but with the recent outcry of storage space by consumers after Wiiware hit the market and Nintendo stating that it was already looking into possible storage solutions for "small" number of people with space problems. It isn't hard to connect the dots and assume hopefully this is the coveted wii HDD. I guesstimate that a since this is calling for planning included with testing and coding. Nintendo may be wanting to draw up plans for a HDD to show off at e3 with the actual product hitting the market this holiday season. The following is the job posting in full.

** This is a CONTRACT position

Description of Duties

* Creating and executing a test plan for Wii's USB devices
* Executing test plans with great attention to detail and documenting bugs
* Writing test procedure documents, gathering, and learning required software/hardware
* Reproducing bug reports and helping find work-arounds or resolutions

Summary of Requirements

* Extremely thorough with keen attention to detail and accuracy
* Able to execute scripted tasks lists with regular repetition
* Ability to reliably report and track defects via spreadsheets or other bug tracking software with great detail

** This is a CONTRACT position

Please oh please let this be for a USB hard drive.

Then again, knowing Nintendo, it could be some silly add-on to transmit DS demos when the machine is off or something that no one cares about.

It has to be a HDD. As VC games get more numerous and WiiWare games get bigger its going to become the only way to move both services forward.

I agree with Necros. But, either way its somewhat annoying they (Nintendo) won't peruse/pursue the active SD card reader option.. That would be probably the easiest, cost effective solution for everyone I think. 2+ GB SD Card = $19.95. 2+ GB USB External HD = $$$$
