New PS2 Hits Japan, Expected to Outsell PS3

With the anniversary of the start of the Next Gen War coming up, Sony decided to revamp their now 7 year old console, the PS2. The only major change is that the power adapter will be built right into the system, therefore making it even more smaller. Sony says that they want the player to feel more...portable with the console. Too bad the Gamecube beat you to the punch, 6 years ago.

I'll definitely go with a silver or white when it comes to the US. $99 isn't bad, and there's still a crapload of PS2 games I haven't played.

I just love that the PS2 is still outselling the PS3. Way to go Sony.

The PS2 is 75% cheaper and has 200 million times more titles than the PS3 does.

I'm not sure why it won't outsell everything.

about me

I'm into a bit of everything. At the moment I only have a PS2 and a Gamecube, but I'm hoping to get a job soon, so I can start collecting more stuff. I'm a very big Super Smash Brothers Melee player, and I've been playing the game almost at a competitive level for a year now.

I'm here just to read/try to spread the word of gaming around, I've been just recently introduced to Destructoid, so I consider myself a newbie. I do however hope to become a regular in this community.
