I've read DTOID for some time now, not even sure just how long. I rarely comment and this is only my second post, but I have lots of good memories. Meeting up at PAX last year (and hopefully again this year) sealed it for me. Best. Community. Ever.
One of my newer goals in life is to become a rapper. I know, crazy. It was Rock Band, oddly enough, that got me in to the art. Before you know it, I'm rapping Jay-Z and B.I.G. in karaoke bars. Not satisfied with the presented lyrics, I memorize the original versions and even throw in some mash-ups too. I've been writhing bits and verses of my own. Also been experimenting with LSDJ as I want it to be a feature of my sound.
I'm kicking myself in the ass as it has been almost a year and a half since I completed a song. Even then, it was rushed and sloppy. I need to get something off my mind before I get much more lax about creating. So I figure, "Why not write about DTOID?". And so I did.
It has lots of reference to how I got here, past memes, and the Destructoid Live panel that I attended.
I love feedback. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
Okay. So I still can't figure out BBCODE for the life of me. A "[soundcloud]" code would be great (please and thanks!) but I'll just post the link for now.
Put this off too long, can't deny myself any more. So, here it is, my C-Blog! I've been a fan of the site for years, bought previous PAX-edition shirts, listened to the podcasts (mostly RFG), retweet the shit out of DTOID stories, etc, but I mostly remained a lurker. Never again!
I went to PAX this year and had an awesome time. In addition, I finally met these kick-ass, incredible people in real life. I've been parts of other online communities in the past few years, but nothing quite like this.
The panel alone was worth coming to Seattle. Ok, not really, but it was a blast. There was LOTS of swearing. Shitty swag was thrown everywhere. I managed to get a t-shirt, that, I have no idea what the product is or have heard of the company before. Also had a McD's hamburger thrown directly in to my lap. It was delicious. Some reviews of games were presented including Puppy Football and Big Tits And Cocks (aka Saints Row 3). Cake was eaten as the competition between Hamza and some guy from 2K (help me with names, plz).
A dance battle ensued between SEGA and Jim. This is what resulted. NSFW warning. Hell, it may not even be suitable for viewing by any form of eyeball. What you see can and will not be unseeen. Enjoy.
Afterwards was the big group photo. I'm under the "E" with the green hat matching my DTOID shirt.
Then, a casual dinner at Rock Bottom where I made some new friends. I'm touched to see so many like-minded gamers that I can get along with. Awww... :D
So, now what? Find me! Friend me!
