This is not an event to be trivialized.
I don't even live in America but I have been smiling my ass off since I found out that he won and I am so proud of everybody who voted for him.
So "no" is my answer. No, we cannot "just move on". If you don't want to read about it then don't, but don't expect everybody else to share your disinterest.
No. I'm elated with the election results. This blog is meant as a buffer for all the ftards who believe the blogs are some slightly more eloquent version of /b/.
I know that a good number of people are amazed with what has happened tonight and you can count me in that number. But there needs to be some preemptive acknowledgement made that we need to get back to normal around here. There are many people who ate slept and breathed this election for nearly two years and we're looking to just shut down amidst all the overwhelming urge to rub the losers nose in the dirt.
There's also a good number of people who are apathetic to it all and want it to stop.
To you, you did all the hard work by deciding who to vote for.
To Obama, he has my congratulations, but I'll save the laudatory ass kissing for when he actually does some of what he promised.
There should be a rule against this kind of thing. It's like a Destructoid contest in which there isn't a winner.
