Just as a coda to this whole mess...
Most people, when they have a problem they rarely tell you of the resolution, but I figured I'd shine some light on it since I'd been
especially bitchy about it.
Officially I'd been labeling this as a problem since the day my Xbox RRoD'd on me.
That would make as of today, exactly 14 weeks (98 days) to get my Xbox Licensing fixed, seeing as how the Xbox red ringed on December 18th.
Technically, the case has been open for me to get my license transferred on all my games since January 30, or 74 days.
Take it however you will, but I just got a phone call about 15 minutes ago from "Mark" at Xbox Live Support telling me that my licenses for all my games have now been transferred from my older and broken Xbox 360 to the new one. Huzzah.
I won't actually be able to test this until I get home tonight, but the prospect of playing Ms. Pac Man without being online is somewhat comforting, I suppose. I did pay for it after all.
*crosses fingers for dvd*
MIcrosoft's DRM is a kick in the pantaloons. I fear the day my 360 RRoD's on me.there should be a much easier method. Allow drm'd content to only be active on one 360 at a time, if 2 files with the same drm code are online at the same time, the console online first has rights to play the drm'd content.
All that stuff is tied to your xbl account anyway.
lol, I'm "Mark"
Goddammit!
I knew it, you fucker.
I've got all the games I bought on my friend's playstation. All you have to do is sign in on your account, download the stuff. He can play online and everything.
Good luck man!
My Xbox died within its first four months, and I was a very caring owner. There's nothing to stop the same thing from happening again very soon, so I haven't bothered with my DRM. Screw my roommates, they can buy Geometry Wars if they want to play it :(
hmmm 74 days? I think I'm going to suck it up and skip this process when my baby gets back
OMG BAHAMUT SIGHTING!!!
Yeah, I doubt I'll do this again if my system RRoD's on me again. At the amount of time and effort I've wasted on this whole fucking mess, I could've gone out and bought the wireless adapter which would've fixed this whole mess.
Goddamn that's about time! Just hope/pray this will never happen again.
That's awesome! I was wondering how they'd fix it. I hope it doesn't take as long for the rest of us.
Good luck, man! It should work fine. When I had this problem after getting a refurbed 360 back I made one phone call and the guy had it fixed before I hung up the phone. I had to re-download all of my games, but the licenses were transferred to the new xbox and I could play them offline or with other accounts. I'm sorry it took you so long to get to this point. I guess I just got lucky.
Also, if they're not working at first, delete them and re-download--that's what I had to do.
hehe "got lucky"
