I just wanted to first of all thank everyone who came out to my place this last Saturday! I had a great time at the party and hope you all did too! Special thanks goes out to ErbilT for bringing his TV so that we could have one 360 going all night upstairs with tons of fighting games! Also, thanks to MatCD and Wedgewu for bring over the GBA and connector cables....I missed playing Four Swords SOO MUCH!
Anyway, check out the pictures below! If you missed this NARP, make sure not to miss the next one!

Chilling in the living room
Ben Perlee and Stella raiding the Pizza Rolls
Elem08 and Tactix playing fightan games!
ErbilT and Stella playing duking it out (they are soo good!)
And now...the obligatory Tactix myspace pics (I seriously dont remember taking these....:P)
Its been a while since we have decided to get together, but now is the time! This weekend, Tactix's brother, Elem08, is coming up all the way from Texas. He was SUPPOSED to go to PAX, but a bout of the swine flu quarantined him in his dorm room that very weekend. Well, he's all better now and is using that flight to come to the Bay Area! As such, we've decided to have a mini get-together in Berkeley, so we can hang out and play games!
Take how awesome Tactix is, and multiply it by 9000. That is a fraction of how awesome Elem08 is
This Saturday, November 14th, starting at 8pm, Tactix will open his apartment to all Dtoiders who want to hang out and play some games. We hope to have two gaming areas set up, one for fightan game tournaments (try to take me out! I dare you!), and one area for other multiplayer games (or board games! bring them over if you got them!)
Anyway, if you are interested in coming over and meeting fellow Dtoiders, make sure to join the Google Group. To protect Tactix from being bombarded by adoring fans breaking down his doors, the directions can only be found there, or by PMing the DtoidSanFrancisco group.
If you live in the Bay Area, I hope to see you there!
First of all, thanks to all who came out to the meetup! As mentioned before, DtoidSF went down to Japantown to check out the brand new center focused on Japan pop culture, New People. Approximately 12 of us showed up to walk around, and take in what Japanese pop had to offer. After checking out the insanely priced gadgets and accessories at New People, Dyson led us to a beacon of awesome nearby.....a Burger King across from a Goodwill. :D
After checking out the mall in Japantown, we decided to take one more stop at New People before dinner.....this time, out of nowhere, the whole second floor was taken up by tons of girls in gothic Lolita dresses, marking the highlight of the evening :P. Seeing this kinda freaked us out, as you can see from Husky's expression here:
After dinner at a Sushi place, it was time to call it a day. Thanks again to everyone who showed up, and for those who couldn't make it, we hope to see you at another NARP!
I now leave you with possibly the best City Group photo ever. Behold.
Here is a quick blog about a meetup being planned currently for members of Dtoid San Francisco. This weekend, Japantown is pleased to have a grand opening of New People, a center designated for celebrating J-Pop! (as seen on Japanator.) A couple of Dtoiders wanted to meet there on Sunday Aug, 16th, to check out the center, maybe catch a film, and hang out.
A bonus is that at New People, there will be an exhibit by Yoshitaka Amano, the man best known for his Final Fantasy character designs. It should be a pretty awesome exhibit! :D
Anyway, if you are interested in coming out, or if you just want to hear more about this event and other events that happen so spontaneously that we dont have time to blog about it, join the Google Group! (Make sure to include your Dtoid name so we know who you are <3)
If you live in the Bay Area, and are not on the DtoidSF mailing list, first of all, SHAME ON YOU! Being on the DtoidSF google group is the best way to find out what events Dtoiders in your area have planned, such as gaming events and such. For example, this Sunday, DtoidSF is planning to meet up at the Sunnyvale Golfland in the South Bay for great arcade and minigolf times! There is much to do there, such as: Play Pop'n Music! Challenge Tactix at BlazBlue! Feast your fingers on DJ Max Technika! Beat Guttless at minigolf (he's chokes under pressure....trust me :D)
The current plan is to meet up at the Golfland around lunchtime, play games at the arcade, and then maybe head over to EarthbounderNess's place for games.
When: This Sunday
Where: 855 E El Camino Real
Sunnyvale, CA 94087-2937
Why: Why the hell not?!
Hope to see you there! (and for the love of Science, join the Google Group <3)
Your friendly neighborhood DtoidSF blog here. The school year is coming to a close soon which means (for most people, not me....I hate grad school) more time for FUN! And instead of spending time secluded in our rooms playing games (again not me...my stupid 360 RROD'ed), if you live in the Bay Area, I wanted to let you know about something we have planned!

July 18th
Did you guys see Dale and Colette's epic interview with Nobuo Uematsu and coverage of the Distant Worlds concert? Well, HOLY SHIT the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert is coming to SAN FRANCISCO!!! If you've wanted to dress up all nice and hear amazing Final Fantasy music played by a world renowned orchestra then this event is for you!
Tickets are already on sale, so I would suggest buying them as soon as possible here. DtoidSF plans to meet up in the city for dinner and then a night at the symphony. Afterward, there are no plans set in stone, but all I know is when you put gamers in "fancy pants" clothes and go out for a night on the town, good times will be had!

That's all thats planned for now, but the summer is just starting! If you havent signed up for the Google group yet, make sure to do so by clicking the link in the side bar, or clicking here.
